We had the good fortune of connecting with Scarleth Romo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scarleth, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
When it comes to who I am today many factors and people come into play. My parents are both Mexican. They’re hard working and very successful. That did not come easy to them. Many ups and downs and hard work. They both had to pick themselves back up many times. Although that was very difficult to watch them go through throughout the years. It was very necessary for me to be who I am. When it was my turn to pick myself back up I knew exactly how strong I needed to be to do it. I knew the sacrifices I needed to make to be the best version of myself. I knew giving up was just never an option. I thank them for that very much. I am the strong, hardworking and independent woman I am today because of them.

Another part of my background that has lead me to be who I am and doing what I love, is my mom. I started off working with her when I was 15, when she opened up her first venue. I fell in love with the event industry and working with florals. My mom taught me so much of what I know. Thanks to her I found my passion and I’m so grateful for that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So for those who don’t know, I’m the owner of Blooming Fleur and Scarleth Ayme Events. I’m not only a florist but I’m an event planner and coordinator as well. My journey with my business started in 2020 in the middle of the covid pandemic and pregnant. It was not easy at all to get things started but 2 years later here we are! I’m so proud of how far my business has come and what I’ve accomplished so far. I’ve wanted to give up so many times. I’m so glad I never did because I wouldn’t be where I’m at now if I would’ve. With hard work and determination I’ve been able to have a very successful business.

We started making occasional arrangements to now decorating weddings and planning and coordinating events. It’s all such a blessing. I’m so thankful to God and everyone who has supported me along the way. I’m so excited to keep growing and start my second business which will still be in connection to Blooming Fleur. I can’t wait to share soon!

I remember thinking, “so many people are florists already, why even bother”. I’m so glad I did it. Because at the end of the day every florist is not me. Everyone has their own style and that’s with every business out there. So don’t ever let the fact that others do what you do stop you from starting your business. No one will have your same work ethic, style, form of communication, etc… That’s all you and that’s one thing no one can take from you.
There’s room for anyone that truly wants to win.

My advice to anyone that wants to start a business. Go for it! Just go for it. You’ll never be 100 % ready. The time is now. You’ll learn as you go. Just don’t wait until you’re ready or until your business plan is perfect. There is no plan that’s a straight line and especially not in business. It’ll be tough but it’ll be worth it because it’s yours and it’s your dream.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Daniel and daughters Sophia and Emilia. They inspire me everyday. My biggest supporters and my why.
