We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Vanornum and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In 2022, I remember hearing the word “YES” This year is a yes year. I remember telling myself, I am done having nothing, We were not poor, but our mindsets can be so poor. I said this year that if I want to see something different, I must make some changes. so that year, doors opened up, to sign up for a missions trip, which requires fundraising, and that’s how Stacked With Purpose started. But I have this ongoing thing in my heart, I always want to have my own thing, my own business, I am a homeschooling stay-at-home mom, and I am committed to that, but also I want to create something that has a purpose, that helps create solutions to problems. but also will bring some financial freedom, It took me some great years to surrender my thoughts and figure out what I like. But that year, I knew, it is a shift. When I was building this brand/business, “mothers” were among the reasons in my heart. I want them to know that it is possible. Whether they are single moms, working moms, or stay-at-home mothers like me, it is possible!!!
What should our readers know about your business?
As I mentioned previously, I signed up for a mission trip and needed to raise funds. It was scary to sign up knowing I am a homeschooling mom and my husband is the only one who is currently working. It means I have to raise funds so I can go and serve, but I did it, I signed up. I wanted to come up with a fun way to raise money for my trip so I started making bracelets but these were not just any bracelets! I heard an idea in my heart to make bracelets with encouraging words that would speak life and truth to the people that wore them. during that season of raising funds, I found myself coming up with a name, I came up with the name, “Stacked With Purpose”. My heart was that, as they wear it, It would simply remind them of the truth about who they really are.
As I continued making and selling bracelets for my mission trip, I felt that this could become something more. I believed this was one of the things that I have been praying for, to do something while I homeschool my kids, help my household, and serve by reaching out to people as much as I can.
My heart is for people to know they are seen, known, loved, and belong. That there is a place for them and they are not alone. I love words and I love giving encouragement because it encourages me and fills me up as well.
After I had raised the funds, we expanded the business after receiving feedback about how our bracelets were impacting women’s lives. We are passionate about our mission to encourage and equip women by calling out the gifts that God has given them from bracelets and Encouraging and Inspiring words.
In the beginning, I was going with the flow. I love creating a new brand, I like helping others find their passion and helping out whether it is a business or a ministry. I love branding and starting up new things. So, when I heard some stories about how these bracelets and words have impacted their lives, I told myself this is worth fighting for. I obtained my domain, I built my website in 2 weeks, and I even told myself, if I don’t figure out my website within this “free trial” period of time, I will never going to make it. So I did, and after the basics are built, one of my friends helped me complete some plug-ins and explore more, did my logo and everything came out so easily. Why, because I love what I was doing. I started hearing some critiques that they will just have to buy their bracelets from big companies so they can save some money. That upset me a little, but that is what drives me more to pursue building Stacked With Purpose. I realize that I have to believe first before others do, I realize that I don’t have to discount myself because I can’t please everyone. I believe from the beginning that I have an audience from the start What I do is not only for people to consume, this is just a tool to get them to wear and read all these words that are life-giving. All it takes is for them to believe it. I have so many testimonies in my file from people who bought, even when we are at some events, sometimes, they will pick up the cards and start to read them and I will see them get teary-eyed

I wouldn’t be here If it’s just me, I am here because I have my support system, My relationship with God, my family, my friends,
my local church community, and the DFW small business community. looking back, I wouldn’t be here with Stacked With Purpose if I didn’t say yes and took a step forward. I just take one step at a time. The bigger the picture you see, the scariest it can be. The year that I decided to say yes and do something with the vision I see, I also change the questions in my head. I learn that asking the right questions propels you to do the next step. Building something is never easy, but when you are doing the things you love to do, It makes it easier to move forward, To wake up each day excited. There are some obstacles that came along the way, and how I overcame is by changing my mindset. It is easily get distracted, offended, and discouraged. Did I experience those things? absolutely! It is painful and depressing, and you just feel not so good about yourself, those feelings are valid and I didn’t dismiss them quickly, but I didn’t also babysit those emotions for too long. I learn that if I want to build and be successful in my micro and macro goals, I have to shift the way I think, or else, I will snooze, and you know what happens when you snooze, you lose. So a mind shift is important and it is a practice. I am still learning as I go. I am learning a lot of self-control, a lot of healthy boundaries, a lot of giving grace to myself, and also to have fun. Because when the fun is gone, It is hard to move forward. I do this for a reason. I want the world to know that they are more than enough and that Stacked WIth Purpose is more than just a company that makes and sells bracelets. We are more than just a fashion jewelry and apparel company. Stacked With Purpose’s mission is to come alongside women in their identity by creating fun and meaningful pieces of jewelry that can remind them of their worth and value. Our jewelry comes with a declaration card and a personalized written word, designed to bring hope and call out the best and the gifts each person has. We believe that our unique approach to handmade fashion jewelry, with a focus on identity and purpose, sets us apart. We are committed to partnering with different organizations to reach as many people as possible, especially women, and provide them with an extraordinary experience that reflects the love of God and serves them in a way that makes them feel seen, known, and loved. I personally love solving problems and letting others see their worth and value. Many women struggle with identity issues, feeling rejected, unloved, undervalued, unseen, or traumatized from childhood experiences. These negative thoughts and emotions can cause a lack of self-esteem and self-confidence, affecting their mental health, relationships, and daily lives. These women need something to remind them of their worth and value, to bring hope and healing to their hearts. We don’t want people to just consume, we want to provide them with a tool. Our products come with a declaration card and personalized word of encouragement and inspiring words that they get to keep and hopefully, each time they need to be reminded they can pull these cards and read them, each time they wear these bracelets will remind them of who they really are. Our products are designed to bring hope and revelation of who God is. Our jewelry serves as a physical reminder of their worth and value, helping them to walk in their full identity of who they are in Christ. and right now, We just launched our men’s line, It is in our hearts to reach out to as many people, and hopefully we can be around the globe.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We live in Fort Worth, TX and there are more great restaurants than I can count. Some of our favorite places to eat are Coco Shrimp, Hanabi Ramen, Kura (revolving sushi place, fun experience), Jollibee (Filipino fast food), and Frezko Taco (best carne asada fries around). Some of the places that we would take our guests (and have) is the Fort Worth Water Gardens (this place has lots of water features and amazing architecture. I would take them to the Fort Worth Stockyards (they have bull riding, restaurants, and a cattle herd down the main street). They have Six Flags if our guest is into amusement parks. My most important itinerary item is quality time, so that would be gathering together at my house and talking or taking them to the different amazing coffee shops in the area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, this would not happen if it wasn’t for God. It is His vision. I am very grateful for my husband Marshall who from the start has been my biggest supporter. He plays the most significant part of this. Children, who are very understanding and supportive, and my mom who buys the bracelets from the beginning! My friends call out the gift that God has placed in me and have supported me since day one. You know they are your true friends when they don’t go missing when you start your business. My church family Gateway NFW campus, the love and support, and belief in me. My pastors become my mentors. and my DFW community! I can’t express enough all the love and support from the beginning of this journey until now, I am forever grateful, especially Fort Worth Community.
