We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Stone Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is persistence and passion. My brand would be nothing without those two important factors! First, I want to discuss persistence. Persistence is important to me and my brand because no matter what obstacles are placed in my way, I refuse to give up! Those obstacles allow me to learn from my experiences and help my brand succeed! Next, passion is VERY important to my success because it is what drives me to create new content and connect with my audience! I truly LOVE what I do and I want to share that with my audience!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my food blogger/influencer journey about five years ago and it’s crazy how fast time has flown by! I also have a full time job in the insurance industry, so I have REALLY learned how to balance my time. I have learned a lot throughout these past five years but I think creativity is what helped me push the envelope. I wanted to develop content that people would love to engage with and hopefully inspire them to visit the restaurants that I partner with and also inspire them to create a food blog of their own!

Also, my brand is focused around positivity. I want my Instagram page to be a source of happiness and inspiration to my followers!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This question excites me because hosting friends and family is probably my favorite thing IN THE WORLD! Gosh, I wish there was more time in the day because I would want to take my friend EVERYWHERE! If I were to have a friend visit for the week in the Plano/DFW area, the FIRST thing that I would do would be to take them to brunch, because who doesn’t love brunch?! I would take them to Mexican Bar Company in Plano, TX. They have their “Bodega Brunch” where you can order mimosa pitchers and have a FABULOUS day of brunching on their patio!

Next, I would take my pal on over to the Katy Trail in Dallas. It is the PERFECT place to soak up the sun and enjoy a nice walk or jog!

Throughout the week, we would visit one of my favorite places, The Stix Icehouse in McKinney. TX! When you’re coming to visit Texas, you HAVE to try the queso, and The Stix has the BEST queso! They also have events such as Goat Yoga, so we would attend that event as well!

We would make sure to stop by the awesome wineries and tasting rooms in downtown McKinney including: Landon winery, Barons Creek Tasting Room & Wine Lounge, and Lone Star Wine Cellars!

When we are in the mood to shop, we will head on over the Legacy West, a beautiful upscale shopping area in Plano, TX! We would stop by my favorite spot there, Mesero. Mesero has FABULOUS margaritas and delicious food!

We would then head on over to Grandscape because I absolutely LOVE The Truckyards! They offer live music and cocktails ON TAP! How awesome is that?!

This week would be JAM PACKED with fun and entertainment as we explore DFW!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give credit to my family and friends! They inspire me to develop new content, try our new restaurants and step out of my comfort zone!
