Meet Sarah Rivera: Branding Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Photography started as a requirement for me in highschool, the love for it grew from there. I never thought I would start my own business despite coming from a family of entrepreneurs. But as my skills and passion in the craft and creativity grew I knew I could use it to help other creatives boost their businesses. So mix those two passions together and how could I not start my own business?!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a branding photographer, providing creative entrepreneurs the imagery they need to proudly showcase their talents and personal brand. When I first get to know a client pre-shoot we determine their goals for the images whether it is social media or website so I can capture what is needed. I am not “just a creative” there’s a whole other set of skills that go along with being a creative for other people and other businesses. I have to be a people person and enjoy getting to know what makes other peoples businesses special and unique to accurately portray that. Which turns out to be one of my favorite parts because I get see the passion that other’s have for their craft. Coming from a family of creative entrepreneurs, maybe that’s why I can make the genuine connections, knowing the blood, sweat, tears and laughter that go into each and every art form.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ha, this actually just happened! I had a friend visiting from California for about a week. This friend is a big shopper so we tend to hit the outlets and the Shops at Legacy. We like to eat anywhere with good ambiance. I personally like to go to Fortunata Winery in Aubrey. For activities, we generally stick to all things family but this time we decided to try out Altitude Aerial Arts & Fitness for an Arial Class which did not disappoint! Learning to fly in the first 5 minutes is impressive, their staff was so patient and knowledgeable as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, this is tough. I am lucky to have a lot of support and encouragement but my Husband is the top of the list to thank for all the hours he spends listening, lugging the camera gear, random projects I come up with (and currently planning without his knowledge) and all around support. There is no way I would be where I am without him.
