Meet Sarah Maverick

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Maverick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I had to make was walking away from family and friends that I loved because I had to be a better healthier me.
Every piece of art I have created over the past year and a half is really just a love letter to myself and my children and my husband and those few friends that stood by me. To say – hey you weren’t wrong about me. This was who I was all along.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
To be honest after a very hard 2023 I really was going to quit photography.
I knew if I did come back it had to be in a much much better way.
At the beginning of my career I was a new business person going through a major domestic abuse situation and the business suffered- then the art stopped. I made a million mistakes so the very first thing I do is make sure that the client experience is impeccable.
My husband,David now does customer care on the back end.
We also have a full time editor that assists me.
It’s a group effort, feels and is much more put together.
I also wanted a lot more of an authentic voice true to who I am and where I am at in this moment of my life.
Currently we are creating a fashion forward female focused fine art family business that will be White Moth Gallery.
We also have Tribe Boudoir that is very much my baby.
It’s a place to express yourself and feel good in your body and have beautiful art for your home.
I have also moved into fashion work and am so excited to be challenged.
We of course have a million dreams and goals, one being a studio and classes, but right now I think just breathing and trying to be present and providing my customers with a great experience comes first.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are on the Fort Worth side now so have to recommend
Please go get a lunch and a margarita at Pulidos
And then go buy some sexy lingerie from our friends at Wildflower Intimates in Fort Worth!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband really deserves the credit for me sitting here.
My husband is an amazing artist and talented musician it puts me to shame but he’s never needed the praise or attention.
He just lets me shine.
He had been the only person in my life that has ever just let me breathe.
When you have such a constant loving force believing in you when you can’t even believe in yourself- it moves mountains
It creates magic
It nurtures a safe space to be myself and create art.
Without him there is no me.
