We had the good fortune of connecting with Roxie Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roxie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Roxie Reese is both a passionate educator + entrepreneur striving to bring opportunities to her community. She is the founder of DFW Lash University in Carrollton Texas and a Dallas native. At only 20, Roxie started her journey in the fashion industry, her expertise in both visual merchandising + manufacturing. Her passion for business grew throughout her time in the fashion industry. In 2015 her life took an unexpected turn, she ended up involved in a crime. This changed her life’s trajectory… She knew her life was at a crossroads. She enrolled in the eyelash extension specialty program to become a licensed lash tech. Roxie went forward to gain her Master Educator License and opened DFW Lash University after building her independent lash business, Roxie Lashes. She was able to hit the ground running with her business in 2020 despite the obstacles caused by the pandemic. Roxie Reese stands by her mission: Passion is easy, execution is hard, improving the beauty industry by empowering the beauty professionals of the future.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
DFW Lash University is a Cosmetology School located in Carrollton, Texas. Our School specializes in the Eyelash Extensions Speciality License Program. Texas regulates eyelash extension service, requiring lash artists to obtain an Eyelash Speciality License. We prepare students for their state board written + practical exams in order to become a licensed professional through the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulations. In addition to that program, we offer the Cosmetology Operator Instructor Program, Esthetician Instructor Program, Nail Instructors Program, and Eyelash Extensions Instructors Program. All programs can be completed 100% online. The DFW Lash University program offers scholarships, mentorship, and workshops that go beyond the traditional state-mandated curriculum. We are currently enrolling so, submit an application on our website: https://www.dfwlashuniversity.com/.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spot is definitely the Virgin Hotel. The hotel is beautiful and has an amazing view and great night-life. If I’m hanging with my girls, we’ll definitely hit up Pappadeaux: Seafood Kitchen. I enjoy drinking the Pappadeaux Baton Bellini.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My son Bronx, deserve recognition in my story. He is my greatest inspiration. I work extremely hard to provide for us. What I really admire is his enthusiasm and ability to smile even when I’m not. He always keeps a smile on his face as he showers me in hugs and kisses at 1-years-old. Bronx is full of energy and love, and I am extremely grateful for being his mom and being his provider. I work hard each and every day because I want to be a leading example and role model for him.
