We had the good fortune of connecting with Rolanda Brigham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rolanda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to empower people through the arts. I was creating arts initiatives for other organizations and was successful at it, so I figured I could do this for myself at my own pace. I would be my own boss and navigate through my mindset.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I always find a positive in my day to day life. I am most proud of my sense of humor. I persevered for a while, doing a little bit everyday towards my goals and after 20 years in Texas they have come full circle. I learned along the way that ‘It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you DO NOT Stop!’ I want the world to know that I am not a quitter!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to my house for so good old fashioned fun! I am so old school! We would go to the museum, hit some cultural centers, find some delicious Sushi and visit some art galleries.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to MJR for never giving up on me! For recognizing that there was a system to the madness.
