Meet Ricky Versetti | Latin music artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ricky Versetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ricky, how do you think about risk?
I truly believe taking risks has always marked defining moments in my career. The reason being is that no matter the outcome when you take a risk you are always going to win, whether it be due to success in whatever it was you took a risk on or a lesson learned on what not to do next time. either way both are very valuable in building a successful career in my opinion. So i would say take that risk because no matter the outcome you will always see a positive at the end of it all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Latin music/hip hop artist, songwriter, actor, and director. I am an extremely hands on artist, all the way from the creative process to the business side. I like to be completely involved. The one thing i would say sets me apart the most would be the way I constantly change my styles of music. I fuse my sound with Urban Latin music, Hip Hop, R&B, elements of Rock, Blues, Cumbias, Tejano English, Spanish. So when most artist can only fit in to one style I have music that can fit in many different genres.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First thing i would tell my friend is you have to visit during football season because we are going to a Dallas Cowboys game for sure! we would also visit a few local studios because music is always on the itenarary. Tender Smokehouse Frisco would be an absolute spot for some BBQ before heading to Deep Elum to enjoy some music and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a huge shout out to Mr. Richard Segovia aka The Mayor of the Mission out in the beautiful city of San Francisco. His mentor ship, support, and leadership have been crucial in so many ways to the development of my career. Also Coast2Coast mixtapes for opening up the initial doors the led to so many other opportunities and to all of the people along the way that have believed, contributed, supported, and been a part of the movement at one point or another.
