Meet Richie Martin | Owner at Richie’s Auto Service

We had the good fortune of connecting with Richie Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Richie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I spent eleven years at a company I truly loved—one that always put customers first. Then the business was sold, and everything changed. The new owners wanted me to sell by quota instead of by what people actually needed. I refused to push unnecessary repairs on customers who had trusted me for years, so I turned in my notice with no other job waiting.
After a short break, the phone started ringing—every single day. My longtime clients (many of whom had become good friends) were looking for me. They needed honest help with their cars, and they knew I was the one they could count on.
At the same time, I had a team of skilled technicians and service advisors I’d worked with for years. Good, hard-working people who deserved a positive place to build their careers.
So, I opened my own shop. My only goal was to take care of both groups: give our customers a trustworthy place for their car repairs and give my crew a great place to work every day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Richie’s Auto Service Is Your Trusted Locally Owned Auto Repair Shop.

We deliver excellent customer service, dealership quality automotive repairs and the friendly, trustworthy feel of a hometown garage.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite places to go here in town is our Irving famous Joe’s Coffee Shop. It’s a great slice of South Irving
Other than that, I am not much good at planning these sorts of things and I would depend on my wife to schedule this.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The single greatest influence in my life and in this business is Jesus Christ. Without God, nothing is possible.
I truly believe He led me to open this shop so I could bring honor and glory to His name. In many ways, this is more than an automotive repair business—it is a ministry. Every day we have the opportunity to serve our customers and our team with honesty, integrity, and genuine care, all to the glory of God.
