We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ray, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Actually it was more than one reason behind starting the company. But the main reason was not wanting to work for anyone but myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a American Designer it brings great pleasure to be able to create and change the world culturally and as a fashion designing. Being able to give people confidence and uplift people with my brand is the most important thing, For me anyways. One of the biggest challenges was not giving up on this journey which is what started my biggest collective piece of my brand “Hustle Or Starve”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well it all depends what day of the week we starting at. Some no brainers are Harpers, Drakes, Kiss, Monarch as far as higher end. Now if you looking for some chill spots Felix Culpa is a must my guy Max(tell him I sent you), Mi Cocina, Moxies just to name a few. If you trying to hangout for some drinks Felix Culpa is a vibe for sure, Moxies, Happiest Hour, Stirr(addison or Dallas). Nightlife you have Candleroom, Bottle Blonde, Citizens, by the time this comes out GreenLight Social will be opened in the city(a must go to), Sidebar it’s prolly a few more I’m missing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to think GOD first for allowing me to grace his earth. Second my mom for creating me and giving me life. Both my sons the reason why I hustle so hard for all this. Last but not least all the real ones who pushed me me to do better and be better.
