We had the good fortune of connecting with Raven Bartee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raven, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business because I saw a need for women to truly learn how to love themselves. I personally did not love and care for myself for a while. I also saw women around me not caring and loving themselves properly. Self love is something we hear often but who is really out here teaching women what self love really is? I am.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Raven’s Rich Reality is all about self. If you are ready to improve your self by your self then I am the coach for you. I help people (mostly women) love themselves more. I help with self confidence, self motivation, self love, & self improvement. What sets me apart from others is that I work from experience, and I offer a safe space for women to be vulnerable and get them to where they want to be. For me to be where I am today, I had to believe in myself & also know that my purpose was to help women live fuller & richer lives. It was not easy getting here. I had to work hard, stay dedicated, stay motivated, and apply myself every single day. Ive learned when you have a purpose or vision, nothing and no one can deter you from it. It may not make sense to them, but it doesn’t have to because your purpose is yours & stand on that. I want the world to know that everyone’s story is different but we all have a duty to reach back and help someone else to be all that they can be. Remember someone is always watching you, so live to inspire.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit me for a week our days would be so bomb. I would start us off waking up and hitting the hiking trails in Duncanville to get some exercise and be in the sun with beautiful nature all around us. After that we would have some lunch at my favorite restaurant – Malai’s Kitchen. We would then visit a museum or Klyde Warren Park. In the night time we would visit the bars in Deep Ellum. For a relaxing Sunday we would go to spa castle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out all the women who have inspired me. Whether it was from friendship, supporting a local black business, workshops, or networking. I pay attention to women who are smart, hard working, and go getters! I have met so many ambitious beautiful women and they have all inspired me to be my best self and to go after my goals.
