We had the good fortune of connecting with Rashida Thornton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rashida, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The fact that not many people around me were familiar with a natural or holistic way to stay on top of their health. My passion and love for the methods that I was taught when I was a child. I figured why not educate myself further and start a business. This way those people around me and the people that they know, can have someone that they trust to help them continue to be healthy. And one day I can only be doing something that I love to do.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Rahs Feel Good Living, LLC is the name of my business. I hand make all natural wellness products for all genders ages 2 years and up. All of the products that I provide at this time are made of ingredients that I was introduced to as a child. Everything that I produce I use except for the male hygiene products. Any future products that I provide will come from research as I am currently in school for herbalism. I have been in business for 5 months. Thus far everything has been amazing all thanks to the love and support of my family, friends, and customers.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I Love to be outside so first i would throw a friends day in a park. We would bring food and games. On another day we would go downtown D.C and rent scooters to ride around the city and site see. I like being in the tourist area even though I’m from the city. I Love free spirited people. People who can’t be defined or don’t put themselves in a box.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I absolutely have to give credit to my mother Joyce Baylor and her mother Delores Kirby (my grandmother). For instilling in me the importance of taking care of myself mentally and physically. For showing me the different ways at a very young age.
