We had the good fortune of connecting with Rashadah Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rashadah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk-taking is the reason for my success. I cannot live out my purpose in fear. I cannot bring out what God put in me in fear. The enemy wants me to operate in fear, doubt, etc. The enemy would love for me to be too distracted by social media, tv shows, and drama to not be fruitful. I have learned to be intentional about paying attention to the moment I am in. To live in the moment. I will definitely say if God told me to do something, at first I would second guess my confidence, the outcome, and everything else. Over time I have learned to just move. If it did not turn out to be this HUGE thing, at least I was obedient and the ones connected to me got what they needed, even if it was only one person. I had to learn that success does not depend on the numbers but it depends on the impact. It depends on my obedience to God’s will.

Writing my book, “Unfold my Ashes: Silent tears that became my Rebirth” was tough. Hindsight, I see why I had to do it. It has impacted and touched so many women. I shared my story of sexual molestation and physical abuse. There were many women that could relate. Comparison is always the thief of joy. Starting my Youtube channel was tough, but my heart posture was not right in any of those things. I now realize I was operating from a place of fear instead of a place of service. I was only thinking about myself instead of who I was serving. Risktaking along with your heart posture is key. Being intentional about your “why” is key.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Physician Associate (PA- C) in psychiatry. I have been working for almost 4 years. It was not easy by any means to get here. I have had plenty of setbacks, failures, and disappointments. PAs are trained on the medical model, like physicians, for less time to help fill in the gap in healthcare. I overcame the challenges by staying focused on my why. I have learned that staying focused is the hardest thing to do. Being resilient is my superpower but not because I do it alone. Resilience is brought on by me and my support circle. If it was not for them, I would not have been able to make it. Thus my brand is called, The Resilient PA-C.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a family member was coming to visit I would take them to Maple Bacon, Kona Grill, Kitchen and Kocktails, and KISS for brunch. I would take them to Deep Ellum to bar hop and be in the city. I would definitely take them to the Galleria and North Park Mall too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmother. Unfortunately she passed away in February, but she was my best friend. She motivated and prayed for me always. We had a bond and she always pushed me to accomplish my dreams.
