We had the good fortune of connecting with Rane Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rane, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think that the one of the most important factors behind the success of my brand, Fort Wellness Counseling, has been the quality of individualized therapy that is provided. I believe in providing quality treatment, individualizing therapy to the unique needs of my clients, and doing the right thing. It’s not a cookie cutter approach. Everyone is different and everyone has their own unique story to tell. Therapy is a journey and not all individuals experience it the same way. It’s important to do what is best for the client and to work on what the client wants to get out of therapy. I help them to figure out what they are struggling with, what they want help with, and then together we craft an individualized plan to help them get the results they are looking for. So, yeah, I think that the quality of treatment has been influential in the success of my practice. I’m able to provide that quality because I’m so passionate in what I do. I love what I do, and I love working with clients. I didn’t come into this line of work because I was stuck and didn’t know what next step to take should be. It was an intentional decision to do what I love. The quality is provided because I believe in putting the quality of therapy above all else. Look, I’m not going to lie, my practice is a business and I do get paid for what I do. But I also think it’s important to lay out the fact that quality care is more important than the business aspect. I think it’s simple. If you do the right thing and do what is best for the client, the results will fall into place. Too many times I have seen practices and other businesses put the financial part at bullet point number one and that causes them to fail or provide mediocre work. I don’t believe in mediocrity. I believe in providing the best therapy possible to my clients and I think that is the reason why my practice has become so successful.
What should our readers know about your business?
Fort Wellness Counseling a premiere private practice and located on the west side of Fort Worth near University and I-30 and across the street from the University Park Village. We provide specialized therapy and individual counseling services to adults ages 18 and up. We help clients be the best version of themselves and improve their quality of life. We help clients get the skills necessary to accomplish long-term change and obtain their desired results in therapy. We provide services for depression, anxiety, relational problems, drug and alcohol abuse, substance abuse and several other presenting issues. I’m proud to say that I was awarded by the Three Best Rated as the Top 3 Therapists in Fort Worth, TX in 2021 and 2022. As far as what sets me apart from others, I’d say is my ability to connect with my clients. Fort Wellness Counseling has gotten to where it is today because of the quality of the therapy that is provided. I also must contribute a lot of the success to my clients. Client referrals is my number one referral source and I’m grateful for that. Talking about therapy and how you are attending isn’t easy, but I’ve had a few that talked to their friends and family members about it and how it has been helpful for them. These conversations and normalizing therapy have helped me stay busy and continue doing what I love to do. I wouldn’t say that the process has been easy. I also wouldn’t say that it has been hard. I’d say that it has been a journey and a journey that I loved to be on. I’ve been able to overcome challenges by being objective, learning from them, and then figuring out with the help of others how to fix them and to do better. I believe in continual growth, and I have a thirst for knowledge. One important lesson I have learned along the way is to just do it and not to let fear overcome me. It’s important for people to know that therapy isn’t as intimidating as they think it might be. Therapists are trained professionals that know how to work with clients, and we know how to read you. Our goal is to provide a safe space for you to be yourself and work through your problems. You have nothing to lose by giving it a try.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Fort Worth. I grew up here and have seen it grow so much over the years. Some of the restaurants we’d hit up include Uncle Julio’s, The Original, Lili’s, Bonnell’s, Tokyo Café and Lonesome Dove.
Places we would visit would include the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, the Fort Worth Zoo, Sundance Square, a walk on the Trinity River, the Kimball Art Museum, the Stockyards and TCU. Wait, does this include bringing the kids to or not? If we were able to break free from the kids and grab some drinks somewhere, we’d probably do it at Ridglea, Reatta or Joe T’s.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When it comes to success, I think that Isaac Newton said it best. He said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” I have had so many people that have helped me along the way and it’s impossible to list out everyone. My family, friends, colleagues, co-workers, bosses, professional mentors, and so many more. There is though, without a doubt, one person that stands out to me, and that is my wife. She has always been so supportive of me and my business. I couldn’t do it without her support and encouragement. She has been my biggest cheerleader and I know that she knows how much I appreciate her for that.
