We had the good fortune of connecting with Randy Asubonteng and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I grew up in a home, where my parents own a private school and my mom was a business minded person. She instilled that in all her children and this led me to start my own business one day.
What should our readers know about your business?
Thick Smoke Hookah is a mobile hookah company that provides services to lounges, bars, clubs and private gatherings. My goal is to serve premium quality hookah to all my customers and provide great customer service. Starting this business wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I had to make time to understand what I’m getting myself into and also seek couple mentors to help me understand how this process works. One things I love to do is study, I like to read and get familiarize with things that serves a purpose in my life and understanding the ins and out of this business helped me overcome what most people couldn’t figure out. It’s a lot of lessons learned, but in all I embrace it and enjoy the moment. I have a dream of becoming the best mobile hookah company out there and I am work tirelessly on building my brand and my story will definitely unfold one day.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to bishop arts and also certain spots in Addison. There’s really a lot to do and currently I enjoy most of the restaurants and bars in Addison Texas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this to my friend and brother who passed on February 02, 2023. He was a big inspiration to me in starting my business. I discussed my idea and ultimate goal in starting a mobile hookah company and he helped encouraged me to keep going and not give up on the goal. The day before he passed away, he called me and reminded me of the commitment I made to myself to stay committed and focused. Rest In Peace, Ernest Afriyie.
