We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Ugalde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before starting my own business, my background was predominantly within the coworking/private office industry. I had the pleasure of working with a team of highly motivated individuals that together, helped shaped what is now one of the most prestigious private office companies in Texas, while continuing to expand into other states. Within this particular industry you are surrounded by all types of entrepreneurs so motivation, networking, and a passion for success really resonated throughout my everyday work life. The pathway to starting my own company became more clear as I began to launch our meeting and events department. I saw a sort of division between the corporate meeting industry, and the events and entertainment industry. My vision to create an event center that could cater to both needs began to form and, after finding some amazing partners, eventually evolved into launching Richardson Event Center.
What should our readers know about your business?
Starting any type of company naturally comes with an array of challenges. I think each obstacle we overcome adds another layer of growth and development to Richardson Event Center. Our vision is to create a center that reaches every corner of the event and meeting industry, housed under one location that is central to all of DFW. With each partner bringing their own area of expertise to the company, we feel we have created a one of kind Event Center capable of hosting an assortment of event types.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas/Fort Worth and our surrounding areas have so many amazing places to visit, but I have to zone into our hometown- Richardson, TX. We are a small town with some awesome hidden gems! It’s the holiday season so you of course have to stop by Santa’s Village! If the cookies and hot chocolate don’t fill you up the amazing TexMex at Amigos Aca Y Alla will hit the spot. After stopping by Richardson Event Center for a tour, you have to end your night at the Line Bar and Grill for some fun karaoke and drinks!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
After partnering with Diamond Event Center DFW and DJ Jazz Entertainment, Richardson Event Center came into full fruition. Together, we have a dream team collaboration creating amazing events for both the corporate meeting industry and the events and entertainment world.
