Meet Rachel Ragland | Marketing and Branding Strategist, Agency Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Ragland and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Entrepreneurship is inherently tied to risk. From launching a business to making daily decisions, every step involves uncertainty and the potential for both reward and setback. We invest our passion and effort with the hope of success, and our confidence often stems from past achievements in our field. This combined with faith, helps mitigate the fear that comes with risk.
Faith can provide reassurance and a sense of purpose, reinforcing that risks taken are part of a larger plan. Playing it safe might protect us from immediate challenges, but it can also limit our growth and potential. To truly achieve great things, it’s crucial to take calculated risks, lean on a solid support system, and put in the hard work necessary to turn challenges into opportunities.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RMR Agency is a full-service boutique marketing agency, harmonizing creativity, strategy, and innovation. We prioritize personal relationships through transparent communication and collaborative partnerships to guarantee your brand’s success.
Starting and running a business is never easy; it’s a mentally and emotionally challenging journey. However, through this experience, I’ve learned not to take things too critically. I’ve gained patience, and I’ve become more aware of my strengths and weaknesses.
I believe it’s important for the world to know that goodness always prevails. Being the bigger person is often difficult, but it’s essential. Building a business and crafting a fulfilling lifestyle isn’t just a side gig; it’s a full-time commitment. True leadership is about leading by example, embodying the values you wish to see in others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This article doesn’t provide enough space to acknowledge everyone who has supported me throughout my career, but there are a few key individuals I’d like to mention.
First and foremost, my friends and family have been my unwavering support system throughout my entrepreneurial journey. I am particularly grateful to my parents, Crystal and Steve Ragland, and to my friends Madelaine Donat, Bre Ball Story, and Sarah Crim for their constant encouragement and belief in me.
Barbara Barnes, my mentor from a previous role, made a profound impact on my professional growth. She taught me invaluable lessons in photoshoot logistics, marketing strategies, and branding, and I attribute much of my development to her guidance, despite the relatively brief time we worked together.
Additionally, Taylor Dean has been an essential mentor and resource as a fellow female business owner. Her support and expertise, especially with operations-related questions, have been incredibly beneficial and much appreciated.
