We had the good fortune of connecting with Quaray Payne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quaray, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

As soon as I graduated high school, I enlisted in the military. During my journey, I was blessed to meet some lifelong friends, have exceptional leaders, and was able to climb the ranks. With each new promotion came more responsibility and I was able to exercise my leadership skills. Although I had this opportunity, there was a part of me that felt that I could do more. After 7 years of service, I was separated due to injuries sustained but I took this as an opportunity to dig deeper into myself and figure out my next path.

After having some time to reflect and even trying out a corporate job, I realized that I wanted to do something different for myself and my family. With already sacrificing so much time away from my family during my military career, I realized that a corporate job required much of the same sacrifices. In knowing this, I decided to explore the entrepreneurship route. My main goal was to be able to prioritize my time spent with my family, while turning a hobby into a business. From there, EZ Peezy Mobile Detailing was born!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner of EZ Peezy Mobile Detailing, where we are “Giving Details Like Good Gossip.” My business is a 100% Mobile auto detailing business, based in the North Dallas, Texas area. What do cars and gossip have in common? The details! My attention grabbing motto alone, is one of the aspects that makes my business unique. As previously stated, I am 100% Mobile, so I can go to your home, job/office, or any convenient location. I provide my own water and electricity, to ensure that the customer has a hassle-free experience. Being a new business owner, I am most excited about serving others and building long lasting relationships in the community. Starting my business has been a tedious, but rewarding journey thus far. Since officially launching my business, I’ve been able to put my talents to use while navigating the learning process. I’ve learned that no matter how much we think we know, there is always an opportunity for growth. Being humble, yet hungry for more is what keeps me going. Lastly, I want the world to know who Quaray “Peezy” Payne is. I am on a journey of Me vs. Me and I won’t stop until I’ve become the best version of myself that I can be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so much to see and do, that I don’t know if I can fit all of Dallas into one week. I love the DFW area because I feel it is a melting pot of life, opportunity, and culture. One of the places my best friend and I would visit is the Dallas Farmers Market. The market is full of great food, good vibes, and entrepreneurs; much like myself. I love to see small businesses thriving in the local community. The best piece of it all is the half bottle mimosas for $8! Another spot we would check out is Deep Ellum. This part of Dallas is home to so many dope bars, nightclubs, and eateries. There is something for everyone. Personally, I am a plant-based vegan. One of my favorites quick bites, is Vegan Vibrationz, located in Legacy Hall (Plano.) The cauliflower wings are the best I’ve had in the metroplex. Legacy hall is also home to many restaurants so there’s something for everyone. While in the area, I would take my friend to Scheels, because he’s a huge sports fan. That is the best sports store that I’ve been to. We’d also hit the star, to check out where Dem Boys get the practice in. I’m a good southern boy myself, so I’m definitely pulling out my faithful bull hides. We would take a ride out to the Fort Worth stockyards and enjoy the cattle drive and maybe even catch a rodeo. The list can go on….

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my loving wife, Asia Payne. Despite everything that life has thrown at us, she has been by my side each and every step of the way. During the ups and downs, the high and lows, she has shown me what love truly is. During times of me wanting to quit, she made sure to keep me afloat and pushing me forward. When things were going too well, she kept me level headed and humbled for blessings that we had. She is a natural born nurturer and has an unconditional love that she pours into everything and everyone she touches. She is the best mother that I could ask for, for our children. She ensures that they know what love is. To my wife, I am forever indebted.

Secondly, I would like to shoutout my grandparents, who laid the foundation for who I am today. Johnny and Edna Vanderhorst are responsible for the determination, grit, and values that I have. Not everyone is able to call their grandparents, Mom and Dad also. They are wearers of many hats. They made countless sacrifices for me that were far beyond the typical grandparent role. Having such a dynamic example of father and mother, husband and wife; has been the perfect experience for me to have witnessed. So much of what they instilled in me, has allowed me to lay a similar foundation for my family.
