We had the good fortune of connecting with Princeton Drake and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Princeton, what do you want your legacy to be?
When I think about my legacy, I think about a legacy that is filled with enduring faith, love, prayer, souls being saved, lives being reached for Jesus, and a financial inheritance that blesses my future wife, my future children, my grandchildren, their grandchildren, and generations after that, It is my goal to minister through my God given talents, gifts, skills, and abilities and be a financially abundant and prosperous, successful working actor, storyteller, acting teacher, writer, producer, and director in the entertainment-film industry.

I am 100% committed to working in the entertainment-film industry for the rest of my life. I believe that God has given me the grace, the strength, the talent, and keen vision to work and thrive in this entertainment-film industry. I see myself being one of the highest paid, sought after, most trusted, leading male, supporting male, actors, writers, producers, and directors in the world. I see myself giving the most exciting performances and rendering the best quality, in the capacity of an actor and entertainer. I believe I am an exceptional and unique actor, writer, producer, and director. I believe I have been trained and equipped; and I was created to exceed all expectations with thrilling, bold, and strong performances and writing that will touch and inspire others. I believe, people, production companies, network studios, writers, producers, and directors will pay me hundreds, thousands, and even millions of dollars for me to be a part of their movies, television shows, commercials, industrials, web series, and theatre productions. I believe I am a great storyteller and people all over the world will pay to watch the movies, films, and television series I am in, because I communicate life to them. I believe the movies and films that I am booked for will be shown internationally throughout movie theaters, big screens, and streaming services all over the world. I believe movie and television roles, characters, and scripts will be written specifically for me or by me. Movie ideas, television series, indie films, and stage plays that I create, write, act in, and pitch; I believe will be picked up and produced by different networks and studios. I see myself winning awards for best actor, best writer, best producer, and best director. I believe movie and television series awards already have my name PRINCETON DRAKE on it. I see my presence being appreciated and loved on a set. By God’s grace, favor, and mercy, I see myself using my platform, notoriety, and influence to bring change to the hearts of top officials, casting directors, producers, directors, other actors, my fans, and everyone who sees my face and name in movies and television shows. I see myself being a devoted husband, happily married, with a few children. I see myself being humble, giving back, and serving others with my gifts. I see myself loving others, traveling among the Nations. I would like to be known internationally as a magnificent man of God, actor, writer, storyteller, producer, and director that renovated and left his mark on an entire industry. This is what I want my legacy to be and what I want people to remember about me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hello, thank you for having me in today. My name is Princeton Drake, I am a professional working actor, writer, producer, director, and acting teacher. I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I am the oldest of three children, I enjoy storytelling, and I have over a decade of acting experience. I can be seen in featured films, short films, television series, web-series, music videos, and stage performances all over the United States. I enjoy working in the entertainment industry and helping others break into the industry. I graduated from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida where I majored in Telecommunications and Film and minored in Theatre Arts, with an Acting concentration. It is my desire to be one of the biggest international movie stars, writers, producers, and directors to ever work in the entertainment-film industry. I am also one of the Executive Directors of Divine Legacy Conservatory-Performing Arts Studio in Huntsville, Alabama.

I am not one to compare myself to others; however, I will say that my determination to never stop or quit is what sets me apart from other actors and artist. One of the things that drives me as an actor and entertainer is the stories. The beautiful stories that have been created with rich and diverse characters. As the actor, I get to help bring that character to life for audiences all over the world to see, enjoy, or hate. Another element that drives me as an actor is the belief in myself. I believe I am a winner and champion in this entertainment-film industry. I believe I have what it takes to be a legend in this industry and have a long-lasting career as a professional working actor, writer, producer, and director. I believe I am a international movie star and storyteller. Here are just a few affirmations that I do weekly to keep myself driven and motivated. I Princeton Drake, have the acting chops of Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Earl Cameron, Robert De’Niro, Lauerence Fishburne, and Nate Parker. I Princeton Drake have the fame and likability of Will Smith and Brad Pitt. I Princeton Drake have the screen presence and confidence of Marlon Brando, Clint Eastwood, Samuel L Jackson, and Viola Davis. I Princeton Drake have the creative chops, writing ability, and directing ability of Martin Scorsese, Tyler Perry, Stephen Spielberg, Shonda Rhimes, Lee Daniels, and Ava DuVernay. See, a few years ago, I made up my mind that I was going to be committed to working in the entertainment-film industry for the rest of my life.

I am most proud of and excited about my performing arts studio, Divine Legacy Conservatory. Divine Legacy Conservatory is a Performing Arts and Film Production studio, that was birthed out of a strong passion for the arts and for people desiring to work in the entertainment industry. Created by three individuals Sampley Barinaga, Kathlene Robinson, and myself (Princeton Drake), we created a studio, where people could come and be their true artistic selves. All three of us work as professional actors in the entertainment industry and we love serving others. Also, all three of us have been coaching other actors, self-taping other actors, and helping people with their careers in the entertainment industry individually, before coming together and developing Divine Legacy Conservatory. Our mission and vision at Divine Legacy Conservatory is to train, develop, and launch the professional careers of artists (actors, writers, producers, directors, and dancers) who are seeking to work and thrive in the entertainment industry for the rest of their lives.

I got started as an actor back when I was in college and studying to be a nurse. I was twenty-one at the time, I was pursuing a career in nursing, but I had a strong interest in acting. During that time of my life, I felt a little lost and I started to seek the Lord for direction. I sought the Lord for direction and that’s when things began to change for me. During that time, the door for nursing started to close and the door for acting started to open. The JSU stage production of Sarah Ruhl’s “Eurydice” was my first acting performance as an adult. Then at age twenty-five, I booked my first professional acting job for film and television.

Although, working in this industry can be challenging at times, I believe that God has given me the grace, the strength, the talent, and keen vision to work and thrive in this entertainment industry for the rest of my life. I have overcome many challenges and obstacles, from financial problems, to being in an accident that burned my face and left me with a huge scar on my face, and surviving a worldwide pandemic that shut my industry down for about 10 months. In this life, things are going to happen, obstacles will happen, and challenges will arise. For me I have to keep going, no matter what happens. We all go through tough seasons, but we must endure to the end. Things that help me through difficult times are, prayer, meditation, doing daily affirmations, working out, and surrounding myself around people with positive and good energy.

I want the the world to know that, by God’s grace, favor, and mercy, I will use my platform, notoriety, and influence to bring change to the hearts of top officials, casting directors, producers, directors, other actors, my fans, and everyone who sees my face and name in movies and television shows. I am devoted to ministering through my artistry and moving people with my great acting talents, gifts, skills, and teaching abilities. I see myself giving the most exciting performances and rendering the best quality, in the capacity of an actor and entertainer. I believe I am an exceptional and unique actor, writer, producer, and director. I believe I was created to exceed all expectations with thrilling, bold, and strong performances and writing that will touch and inspire others. I believe everyone has a story and everyone’s story is important. In the words of Steve Harvey, “JUMP.” Jump into your destiny. Whatever it is that you want to do with your life or desire, do it now. The time is now. Life is too short for you to keep playing it safe. Have faith in God, take that risk, believe in yourself, and jump.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Wednesday: Lunch at Agave (Taco’s). After lunch, go downtown to my favorite shopping places THE GOODY VAULT and shop and hangout with my great friend Emmanuel. After shopping, hit up this arcade place called Pints & Pixels . This place is awesome with all the old school arcade games.

I am a very adventurous person, I like to try new restaurant and explore different places within my city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been so many people who have supported me and have been major influences in journey to success. Today, I would like to recognize and shoutout Pastor Earon James in Pensacola, Florida. There is an old saying that states, “there is no failure, when a father is present.” Growing up, my biologically father was present in my life on a consistent basis, and that had an huge affect on me as an adult. In June 2010, at the age of twenty-one, I moved from my city and home state of Huntsville, Alabama to Pensacola, Florida, to serve under the mentorship and leadership of Pastor Earon James at Jubilee International Ministries. I met Pastor James through his oldest daughter Jessie Noel (who was my RA) when I was a college student.

I will forever be grateful for the years I spent under Pastor James mentorship and guidance. The years I spent under his leadership was some of the best years of my life and really laid a foundation down of the man I am today. This man pushed me to be a man of integrity, he showed me what it was like to hold the line for Christ, he taught me how to walk in love, and ask for more grace. He also, taught me how to have hope in Jesus and be a man that goes after Gods own heart. Even though I was an adult when I met him, he really fathered me and taught me many valuable lessons and qualities of being a man. Today, he is still one of my biggest inspirations and supporters. My life was forever changed because of this man.
