We had the good fortune of connecting with Paola Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paola, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes you can! It is normal to be afraid when making decisions, especially when deciding to start a business. When I decided to start in this industry, I never thought that I would be able to get where I am today and be able to live from my business. I went through a lot and every day I keep learning to be better and to continue inspiring other women. Afirming that YES YOU CAN! Everything is possible with passion and dedication.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
It has not been easy, many people did not believed in me. I have learned not to let negative comments get in my way. I have learned to say goodbye to people that distract & harm. I’ve had battles with myself, wondering if I’m really capable enough to run a business. Every day is a learning lesson and every day that passes I see the results. Being disciplined and having a plan is the key to any success. Being organized and strategic is important. You have to learn to listen, throw away advices that are not necessary and keep the one’s that are worth it. But above all, be humble in the process, don’t forget where you come from.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
wow! Where to choose haha. First we would start with a delicious brunch, I am a fan of mimosas and breakfast at 1pm. I would divide the days by relaxing activities and some activities with more adrenaline. One day we would go to the beach and another day we would just stay at my house drinking wine, chatting and having a good time. Going to the movies, a walk by the lake, the zoo, even a little physical activity like riding a bike. Then to have a bit of adrenaline we would visit the parks. I love to travel, explore and discover new places.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all God, I’m a believer that without him nothing would be possible. I am grateful every day, for allowing me to wake up and do what I love most. And of course to my family, my mother who fought so hard to always give us the best. My mother is a business owner, she taught me that desire to work hard for what I want. I changed career twice in college and she always supported me. She taught me that everything is possible with a lot of discipline.
