We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Neal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is how important being authentic is! The best thing you can do to stand out in a saturated market with your business is to infuse your personality into everything that you do. The more open and genuine you are, the more people feel drawn to and comfortable with you. My goal is for my followers to be following for both my work and because they feel like they know me. So many of my clients have become my friends and it’s honestly the best feeling! Putting your genuine self out there in connection with your business allows you to attract like minded clients. When you work with like minded people, creativity will flow and the end results will feel natural. When you stay true to yourself it will also keep you from feeling burnt out or losing passion, because you’re doing what you love in a genuine way!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m really excited about leaning into the travel aspect of my career! My ultimate goal with photography has always been to be able to travel for work. This year has been very lucky for me in that sense and i’ve been able to book sessions and weddings in places like Vegas, South Carolina and New Orleans! I believe you can always improve and adjust your business, it just takes time and hard work. It’s definitely not always easy, but it can always be fun! I always remind myself how lucky I am to have such wonderful clients who appreciate my work enough to want me to travel to them. I think the relationships that I have built within my business are the real key to my success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Check out Bishop Arts District in Dallas for a fun, eclectic area with lots of great food and cute little shops to explore. Also a great spot for photos! Velvet Taco in Dallas is one of my personal favorite fun Texas restaurants. I also love walking around Denton Town Square if you’re going to be on the Fort Worth side of town. Fun antique shops and my personal favorite- the old fashioned candy store!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of the biggest eye opening moments I had in my business was when I joined local facebook photography groups! Finding others with similar passions and goals as me helped push me to meet my goals. I love the community within these groups and how willing others are to answer any questions you have. From gear questions, to pricing, editing and location scouting, joining groups with other local creatives has been so beneficial for me. Shout out to all of the other creatives in these groups who are always willing to help out others!
