We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Timme and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olivia, what matters most to you?
Connection is a value that means quite a bit to me. Have you ever felt that something was missing in your life? That one connection or group of people who understood you so thoroughly you didn’t even need to say something for them to understand what headspace you were in? That right there is why I value connection so much. It is my belief that people need connections to not just survive, but to thrive in their life as cliché as it sounds.
I want to tell you about an oddly specific connection I made recently. I had posted a video about a favorite mug of mine, which then someone from Norway found and replied back showcasing her own mug that looked like a twin of mine. Apparently we had both gotten a mug from a Sommerville, MA potter who specialized in this very unique technique. That connection was a one in a million chance, and now I talk to her at least once a week. And guess what? She also loves art! Social media has become the best way to connect similar people with similar interests and feelings.
Art is a way people can connect to each other without words. As an artist, I enhance people’s lives with inspiration, self-discovery and connection through art. I provide education for aspiring artists to create the art themselves while offering quality tools and tutorials to accomplish their dreams and live a more fulfilled life through expression. All of that to say, connection is the key to my art, and to who I am – without it life wouldn’t be the same.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Have you heard of alcohol inks before? I use these inks as my main creative medium because I love that you cannot go wrong with them. You can re-work, and wipe clean and try again with alcohol inks. I create art that soothes the soul, but what truly sets me apart is the community that I’m building for people that are trying to find their creative spark again.
Seven Olives Design’s mission statement is as follows: I enhance people’s lives with inspiration, self-discovery and connection through art. I provide education for aspiring artists to create the art themselves while offering quality tools and tutorials to accomplish their dreams and live a more fulfilled life through expression.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It takes a village as they say, and behind my success there have been a lot of people supporting me along the way. First off my husband has been my rock. He doesn’t have a creative bone in his body, but he’s been there to listen to my struggles and encourage me when I need it. Second is the Alcohol Ink Art Community that I found on Facebook. This community has been an outstanding source of support and guidance when I started diving into the world of inks. And third, all of my friends and family. Having a support system of loved ones being there to listen to me complain about business struggles, and to celebrate my wins has been amazing. I wouldn’t be where I am without all of these people!!
