We had the good fortune of connecting with Olayinka Afolabi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olayinka, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I just wanted to make people happy without wearing myself out or cutting corners to get things done. After making some improvements in my own house, I realized I had a knack for it and that other people might need the same service. My goal was to build something meaningful and helpful while keeping things balanced and doing it the right way.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my handyman business three years ago with the goal of providing reliable, high-quality work that people can trust. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, commitment to customer satisfaction, and the pride I take in every job big or small. Seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces after a project is completed keeps me motivated, and their referrals have been a huge part of my growth.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Like any business, there were challenges finding clients in the beginning, managing finances, and balancing quality work with competitive pricing. But I overcame those obstacles by staying dedicated, always improving my skills, and delivering great service so that people would keep coming back and spreading the word.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency and honesty go a long way. People appreciate a handyman who shows up on time, communicates well, and does the job right the first time. I want the world to know that my brand stands for quality, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping people improve their homes and spaces. My story is about hard work, persistence, and building something meaningful from the ground up.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are definitely a few people who deserve a shoutout for where I am today. First, my family they’ve always supported me, encouraged me, and pushed me to keep going, even when things got tough. I also have to give credit to my clients who trusted me with their projects and spread the word about my work. Their referrals and positive feedback have been a huge part of my growth. And of course, the countless online resources and DIY guides that helped me sharpen my skills along the way. I appreciate everyone who has played a role in my journey!
