We had the good fortune of connecting with Norma J. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Norma, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think the key to the brand’s success is that it’s a lifestyle I genuinely live as a mom. I make it a priority to spend quality time with my kids and take them on fun adventures when possible. That personal connection helps me truly understand what other moms and dads are looking for: meaningful, enjoyable experiences with their children that don’t have to be expensive. I share a mix of free activities, budget-friendly outings, occasional special experiences, and things for parents. Everything I post fits naturally into everyday family life because it’s as simple as going to the park. The truth is, the things I share are things I’d be doing with my kids anyway. It’s all authentic, real, and rooted in the goal of helping moms discover great ways to make lasting memories with their little ones, and hopefully, it takes the hassle of finding things to do around town.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I’m most proud and excited about is getting to share great spots with other parents—places where they can take their kids to explore, have fun, and make memories together. A lot of the places I post about are free, and some are brand-new parks or hidden gems that the city has opened up. Discovering those little treasures and passing them along to other families is something I’m genuinely proud of.

The way I got to where I am today just came from living my life. It all started when I had my first child and began looking for fun, engaging places to take her. From the beginning, it’s been about exploring the city with my kids. The truth is, this doesn’t feel like a job or a task. It’s simply what I love to do: spend time with my kids and take them on fun adventures.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is that almost every parent is looking for meaningful things to do with their family. And it’s such a joy to be able to share those experiences and make it just a little easier for others to create those special moments.

At the heart of this brand and my story is the belief that kids need time with their parents—to play, to explore, and to just be together. There’s something so beautiful about parents being able to truly enjoy their children’s childhood, because it goes by so quickly. For me, it’s all about being intentional with these moments—especially while they’re little—because this season is precious, and it doesn’t last forever.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since my friend also has young children, I would consider that when planning our day. For breakfast, we’d likely start at Cuquita’s, a wonderful Mexican restaurant I grew up going to with my family. The food is delicious and authentically prepared, making it a special place to share.

After breakfast, we’d probably head to Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, which has a fantastic free indoor playground that’s perfect for kids, which gives moms a chance to relax and catch up while the little ones play. Once the kids have had some fun, we would head over to The Shops at Legacy
for some shopping.

To wrap up the day, we’d probably stop by Hat Creek Burger Company, which offers great food and has a dedicated playground, making it a win-win for both kids and parents.

If my friend were visiting for a full week, we’d make time for some of the best family attractions in the area. The Dallas Zoo would be on our list, along with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, which is both educational and fun for all ages. I’d also take her to the Frisco Public Library, which features a beautifully designed children’s area and an impressive T. rex skeleton in the main hall—an unforgettable sight for any child.

Before she headed home, I would take her car to The Star Auto Service in Richardson to ensure everything was in top shape for her return. They’re hands down the best mechanics in town, and one of my personal favorites. As a small family-owned business, they’ve come through for me countless times and have always provided honest, reliable service—making them a true gem in the community.

There are so many great places in the Dallas area for families to explore, and I’d love to share as many of them as possible during her visit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m so grateful for the family and friends who sometimes get to tag along on our little adventures—it means the world to share those moments with the people I love. A special thank you to my mom, who has been such a wonderful help whenever I need an extra hand with the kids. And of course, my loving husband, who joins us on these adventures whenever he can. My family has always been—and always will be—my greatest support system. Most of all, I thank God for blessing me with this beautiful family and the chance to create these memories together. I’m truly blessed and thankful. Thank you, Jesus!
