We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikita Seal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikita, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The ultimate goal is complete freedom in every sense of the word. I’m working really hard to build multiple businesses so that I can create the type of life I’m happy to wake up to everyday. Money brings financial freedom. That means I’m able to travel the world with my children when I feel like it without needing to request time off from my 9-5. I’ve never liked needing permission. I didn’t realize how mentally in bondage I was until I got laid off from my 9-5 during the pandemic. I want my children to grow up with options and the luxury to do what their heart calls to in life and earn a living that way instead of struggling to survive in the hustle and bustle of life. There’s mental freedom in being able to choose your life and not what society told you. That’s my end goal, just being free and raising free children.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m so in awe of myself and my businesses that I’ve created . It’s so important for me to build something that feels authentic to me and helps display who I want to show up as in this world. Anxiety is a Mutha! is my baby, my passion and my purpose. Anxiety is a Mutha! aka AIAM is my mental health awareness brand that I cofounded with my 1st cousin Laurie Davis. It’s a show that we started to have raw , deep conversations about topics such as anxiety and depression. We recognized that such a taboo topic wasn’t often discussed openly growing up or amongst our black community. AIAM can be listened to on Apple podcast, I Heart radio our website and all other listening platforms. It has grown into a clothing line that supports the movement and promotes mental health awareness and a community of some of the most amazing people.

Building such a power brand like AIAM helped give me the confidence and the platform to promote my 2nd business ZZ’s Ice Cream Puffs. ZZ’s is my food truck/restaurant where we serve a fried donut and ice cream sandwich, where the donut is hot and stuffed with cold ice cream and your favorite cereal topping. We use Blue Bell ice cream which is what I grew up on so it only felt right to use the best of the best. Our official uniform at ZZ’s is our Anxiety is a Mutha! shirts to further spread the message and promote the movement. Our customers seem to really be connecting with what we’re doing. I put so much intentions into every detail so it’s always nice when people simply get it and what to be and ally in support of . In short ZZ’s is a black owned ice cream food truck I  Dallas, TX.

Pretty Rolls is my 3rd business that I recently launched on 4/20 . Which is a luxury smoke line . Being an Air Force veteran who served in Iraq during Iraqi Freedom, I suffer with PTSD, anxiety and depression so I proudly support the 420/ cannabis movement. Pretty rolls is a pre roll or cone shaped object made of pink vegan rice paper in which you are able to enjoy  your CBD or THC session. Pretty Rolls is the paper that you would use, so it does not include any of the plant.

All of my businesses promote mental health awareness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend were in town visiting we’d have to hit up E Bar in North Dallas which is one of my favorite places for Mexican food or Vera Cruz in Cedar Hill. We have to swing by The Weed Spot, a really cool black owned CBD store. We’d find some time to pull up to Egusi in downtown Dallas which is also black owned. I’d definitely take them to Wabi House since they have the most amazing ramen. We’d go hang out at my favorite park, Tietze park for a few hours just to soak up some of the calm and peace there. Then lastly we’d stop by ZZs Ice Cream Puffs because what kind of friend would I be if I didn’t treat them to the most magical treat of them all.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It might be cliché to say my children but they truly deserve so much credit for making me a better me. I believe without them I would still be asleep and not doing the hard work to be a better me. They hold me accountable and let me know when I’m not being the best version of myself. I believe that it’s important for us parents to allow our children to tell us about ourselves. We are not always right because we’re the parent. My children tell me when I’m being too mean and not being kind with my words or through my actions. It’s always a hard pill to swallow when someone holds a mirror up to you and show you your ugly ways but it’s needed. Everyday I’m a little kinder and more patient because of them. So shout out to Aziah and Zion Senegal (@TheSenegalTwins) for being the gift of light and love that mommy so desperately needed. You two make me want to rise to the occasion and be the best version of myself. If I can only be half of what you are to me and this world then I’d be happy.
