We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicolle Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicolle, what do you attribute your success to?
The number one factor to the success of Bella Bra Shop is the customer service we provide. We strive to consistently provide the best service to every customer that walks through the door. We want every customer to feel comfortable and know that they are in a judge-free place when they shop at our store. We want to eliminate that dread/frustration of finding bras and make it a more pleasant experience. Buying bras can be an very intimidating process. I feel that we have mastered the technique of providing an enjoyable atmosphere for our customers and a professionalism that reassures them that they have found the right bra experts to help with their undergarment struggles. A large number of our customers actually find us through searching online because they are fed up with their options and lack of service they have come across at regular department stores. We provide one-on-one bra fittings and have the largest size inclusive options of lingerie in the DFW area— A-O cup, 28-52 band sizes.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bella Bra Shop specializes in personal one-on-one bra fittings for women of all shapes and sizes. Our inventory includes band sizes 28 to 52, and A through O cup options. With our large selection of bras, we are able to fulfill any undergarment needs. We also carry size inclusive sleepwear and swim (from XS-3XL). My background as the owner of Bella Bra Shop: I’m originally from Oregon and was a Wildland Fire Fighter for 6 years with the Oregon Department of Forestry. After moving to Texas, I was given the opportunity to work as a Fitting Specialist for a local lingerie store in Austin, TX. Shortly after starting the new gig, I discovered how rewarding it was to help women find the right size bra. As a bra fitter, we have such a huge impact on the help we provide for those who have been struggling for so long with their undergarments. After working for 10 years within the lingerie industry, I decided to take the plunge and open my own store in Dallas, TX. It has been a rollercoaster of a journey to get to this point and I’m so excited to see how much Bella Bra Shop can help our community and hopefully grow into something impactful. My mission is to provide access to every size on the market and provide a bra fitting service that is a comfortable/enjoyable experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The top place that I take friends or family members who visit Dallas is the Electric Shuffle in the Deep Ellum area. This place is so fun (almost like the top golf version of shuffleboard). Their cocktails and food are great too— I always have a great time when I’m there. Next I would take them to the Bishop Arts District and doing a little shopping and bar hoping. This is such a cute area.
If its a Sunday, I’ll take them to the Thai Food Street Market at the Buddhist Temple of Dallas. Really great food and a nice area to walk around,

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Starting out, I reached out to the SCORE program, which helps set up a business mentors within your area. My mentor, Larry Nelson, has been so helpful in how to set-up my business plan and running such a large inventory. Two podcasts that I was able to obtain a wealth of business information was “The How of Business” with Henry Lopez and “The BizChix” with Natalie Eckdahl. There are a ton of episodes that you can select and listen to that cover very important topics when it comes to running a business and how to improve it.

My husband has also been a HUGE help as well– he’s been right there assisting me in whichever way he can. There have been nights before our grand opening, where we’ve been at the shop ticketing until 2am and he’s never missed a beat in asking “what do you need me to do next”. I feel so blessed to have a husband who believes in me and supports in any way he can in making Bella Bra Shop a success.
