We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Callahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I feel we all really need to make an effort to pay attention to what we are using, working with or exposing ourselves to each day. Little changes can make a big difference, so implementing as many organic and natural items into your routine is really important. Working in the environmental industry for over 15 years, dealing with a variety of chemicals, industries, etc, as well as my Dad being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, was very eye opening to what long-term exposure to contaminates can do.

What should our readers know about your business?
I personally love to buy items that are unique & handmade so I am very proud to be able to bring high quality, affordable products that people love to use daily. A majority of our business comes from returning customers or referrals, which we very much appreciate! I try to utilize local, small businesses & do my best to incorporate these types of vendors into our production. It’s great to know that you are supporting them as much as they support you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living by Lake Ray Hubbard, we would have to visit that area for sure! There are some great locations on the water to grab some drinks & food. Primo’s Tex-Mex Grille & The Flying Saucer both have great patio’s with amazing views! You can even dock your boat & walk up or charter a nice drive around the lake. I would for sure have to go across the lake to Fireside Chicken & Tacos in Rockwall. They have the BEST tacos and their salsa options are a must! Another convenient area is Firewheel Mall. It’s a one-stop location for food, drinks, shopping & entertainment that is easy to navigate. Being that it’s an outside area, there is plenty of space without being crowded & you can enjoy the weather. Rowlett has some really cute shops & places to dine as well. Did you know we have our own brewery?! Bankhead Brewing Company is on Main Street where you can enjoy the small downtown area, hit the Farmer’s Market & visit the stores & other restaurants along the way. Don’t forget to visit the family owned Valentino’s Ristorante Italiano on Lakeview Parkway! The service & food are always top notch. I also enjoy heading downtown! We have to go to Deep Sushi on Elm for the Cherry Blossom roll, my favorite! Right behind that is Braindead Brewing where you can get the Milk & Cookies, which are the most amazing chocolate chip cookies & stout chocolate milk you’ve ever tried. Grab a ride on the M-Line Trolley for a nice tour of the area. Going to North Dallas, I love to visit Celebration. It’s a family owned, farm-to-table restaurant with fresh, delicious food & they even have a market next door. Kuby’s is near SMU & it’s one of the best around for German food. They also have an amazing meat market & deli!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have some really amazing friends & customers that support me & my organic vision. They test all of my products before I release them for sale & because of this, we can fine-tune the positives of each product & know we are making items that people will love. I also have some wonderful vendors that work with me to get high quality, organic ingredients. We love supporting small & local businesses! Several of my products & fragrances come from real requests or suggestions & have been a great success! For example, our line of “Naked!” products was inspired by my friend’s mom that was going thru cancer treatment & needed fragrance & color-free soap & lotion. The Lotion Bars were a suggestion my friend made after trying another brand, but she didn’t like how the product was too greasy & didn’t soak into the skin. We were able to adjust the ingredients to make it a more skin friendly product!
