We had the good fortune of connecting with Nichole Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nichole, what inspires you?
I am absolutely inspired by the love of makeup! I love and have a passion for makeup because it was a form of therapy for me, its just like art you can express how you feel in so many ways! Makeup makes you feel good and beautiful!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Elegacy Boutique derived from two words Elegant and Legacy. I wanted to fit somewhere in the beauty industry. I also wanted to be know as offering stylish items that were pleasing to the eye. Those items including beauty enhancements, fashion, hair, etc. I also wanted to leave a legacy for my kids and building a successful business was my goal to do so. Starting a business is not easy, especially when you also hold down a fulltime job and a household. It definitely has high and low moments but that never have discouraged me, I just keep going! All you can do is give and do your best! Its all a learning lesson each new chapter, you have to embrace each level. I’m a very driven person and I hope and pray to keep growing and learning new things as go. Elegacy Boutique first product launched and what we are known for was our mink lash line. Offering several styles in lash strips whether its natural, moderate or a dramatic lash we have something for all our customers! We now offer clothing, head wraps and accessories. The best part of my business is traveling to different states and cities introducing the brand to new people. I love doing big Makeup events and Expo’s. You meet so many different people from different walks of life. The best part of it is networking with different artist! Which leads you to the unthinkable sometimes. My lashes have reached celebrities like Tisha Campbell Martin, Shirley Caesar, Rapsody, Kron Moore, Amara La Negra and hope to reach more! Networking these shows and expos has introduced me to many great celebrity makeup artist who support my lash line and have enjoyed and loved using Elegacy Boutique lashes on their clients.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
We would definitely eat at two of my favs Cheesecake factory and Pappadeaux. Check out downtown ride the scooters. The Dallas zoo and museums would be on the list along with some great shopping districts to most definitely find latest fashion and of course makeup! Also would adventure off on some day parties, brunch style restaurants with endless mimosas , taking an adventure on a sip and paint journey at Johnavich Studios in Dallas and end the night with a cool spot like R Ls Blues Palace! Some where they sing blues and they put on a good ol show! I would also check out a few Jazz spots for more of an laid back atmosphere. Anything Dallas night life would be on my list!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All the beauty influencers/bloggers that guides makeup lovers on how to stay up to date in the latest trends, tips, application of conquering this big makeup world. I loved the beauty industry! Watching big self taught makeup influencers like So So Shanel and Tailor Made Jane inspired me to launch my own brand of eyelashes! Since that day I’ve never looked backed. I have pushed myself to get my brand out there providing lashes for everyone ,even to some well known celebrities.
