We had the good fortune of connecting with Nia Dillon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From a young age, I felt a strong pull toward a vision that was bigger than myself. I believe I was given this direction early on, and as I gained experience working in the marketing field—especially closely with a CEO of a boutique sized agency—I had the chance to see firsthand what it took to build something lasting and impactful. When it was finally time to start my own agency, my thought process was simple yet powerful: keep moving forward, one step at a time, never settling, and always aiming higher.

I knew building this company would mean developing systems from the ground up, testing strategies, and embracing the ups and downs that come with putting your ideas out there for all to see. Success, failure, and everything in between are part of the journey, and my goal was always to learn from each experience and keep pushing forward.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Innovative Campaigns, we’re different because we genuinely understand the journey of our clients—those who are still building the foundations of their brands and aiming for long-term growth. We don’t just offer services; we empower our clients with the knowledge to create sustainable marketing strategies themselves. I believe that education and partnership set us apart and allow us to make a lasting impact on the businesses we work with.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Building Innovative Campaigns meant tackling one of the biggest challenges in marketing: showing business owners the value of investing in the right people, processes, and strategies to amplify their brand. Many business owners struggle to see marketing as an essential part of their success because they simply haven’t had that experience yet. It’s my job to show them how powerful and transformative a well-thought-out strategy can be.

What I love most about marketing is the storytelling, especially creating a brand that brings events to life. That’s where I feel most inspired—showcasing the essence and culture behind each event we’re part of. Innovative Campaigns was born to speak the language of culture fluently, and that’s what I want the world to know about our story and our purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I must start by stating that I’m from New Orleans and don’t spend a lot of time outside. “The Charlotte,” “the Bells Sweet Factory” food truck, and “Kitchen + Kocktails” are some of current favorite dining spots. Izkina, Fivee Bistro and a few promoter groups (which consistently host great parties) are my destinations for nightlife. For networking, we’ll connect with the Women’s Business Council Southwest and the Fort Worth and Dallas Black Chambers of Commerce to attend some fantastic professional networking events that are well worth going to in order to make some great connections!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mama. She may no longer be with us, but her love and unwavering support remain the foundation of everything I’ve built. Her belief in me and her encouragement kept me going through every challenge and triumph. She’s the glue that holds my story together, and every success I have is a reflection of her strength, guidance, and love.
