We had the good fortune of connecting with Mitch Lazorko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mitch, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the most important factors behind the success of my business has been demonstrating honesty and reliability to my clients. I’ve noticed that while many creatives are exceptionally talented, their customer service skills can sometimes fall short. Simple yet crucial actions—like responding to emails promptly or delivering the final product on time—can make a significant difference in building client trust and confidence. In my line of work, which focuses on corporate headshots and testimonial videos, I’ve been fortunate that my commitment to professionalism has led to consistently positive client experiences. As a result, many of my clients return to work with me regularly, which has been instrumental in my business’s growth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Lazorko Photography, our mission is to showcase the individual. This is especially evident in the corporate headshots we provide. Too often, I meet people who say, “I hated my last headshot” or “I never like pictures of myself.” That’s why it’s so important to me that every client walks away not only with a great headshot but also with newfound confidence in how they are represented.

While technical expertise is an essential part of what I bring to the table, I believe the real magic happens in guiding clients to find an authentic expression that reflects their best self. There’s nothing better than that moment when a client reviews their photos and says, “Wow!”—I love being part of that transformation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Eat lunch at TLC Vegan Cafe and get dessert from Reverie Bakery.
Walk along the Katy Trail or around White Rock Lake.
Visit shops in Deep Ellum.
Go to a comedy show at the Majestic Theatre.
See a movie while eating a delicious meal at Alamo Drafthouse.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Someone who was a huge help at the start of my business was Jeremy Sharp. He is a commercial photographer and filmmaker who was kind enough to answer a lot of questions and allow me to assist him on set for both his photography and his video clients. Observing his work allowed me to develop and strong and sustainable workflow for what I do today. He can be found at https://www.jeremysharppictures.com/
