We had the good fortune of connecting with Misty Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Misty, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is my husband. Even though he doesn’t know much about the fashion industry, he is very intelligent on business aspects. He brings insight on other ways of thinking that helps when I can’t think outside of my own thought process. He is my biggest cheerleader.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Something that helps to set my brand apart from others is my turnaround time. Many brand wholesalers will offer an exorbitant amount of pre-order items with an ETA on delivery. These items are then ordered by boutiques that are looking for future inventory fulfillment. However, a lot of times the items they placed a pre-order on won’t ever be put into production. That leaves the boutiques coming into a season without the inventory pieces they planned on being there to fill their void. The majority of Misty BD pieces are ready to ship. Any piece offered for pre-order, is definitely being put into or already in production. Boutique owners can order with confidence knowing they will receive what they placed an order for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I honestly don’t get out much. LOL. If I’m not working, I am at one of my kid’s sporting events or supporting my husband at the dragstrip for a race event. Friends know if they come into town they are more than welcome to crash at our place and tag along with whatever event my family has going on. Friends usually tell us what they want to do while visiting and we end up tagging along with them.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate a lot of my success to connections I’ve made within 2 separate boutique communities, The Boutique Hub and InstantBoss .

When I was fairly new and needed help getting my brand out to more boutique owners, a fellow business owner, Mary Meier (Fox & Owl T-Shirts), who I befriended within The Boutique Hub, was kind enough to share my brand with her large group of followers/buyers. That act of kindness helped my brand to pick up momentum.

Later down the road I met Jennifer Lackey, InstantBoss CEO/Founder. I was able to share my brand with her large tribe of followers which also helped my brand name be known.

My most recent networking connection made within the Boutique Hub was with Lisa Gilroyed, CEO Lemon-Aid & Malibu Hippie. She saw my brand within the Hub and thought I would be a good fit for her showroom, Synergy Marketplace which is located in Dallas Market Center.
