We had the good fortune of connecting with Misty Carrillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Misty, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be inspirational, so when people see or hear my story they can fight to become better for themselves and their family and say ” If she can do it, so can I “. My brand is about helping women feel comfortable, confident and beautiful. When they leave from their appointments I want them to  feel like this is their safe space and can relax. My clients trust me in their beauty needs, in helping them feel more confident in themselves. It’s the best feeling in the world.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of myself in becoming a better version of me in what I always wanted to be. To show my kids that in all types of life obstacles of the good, bad, ugly and the painful they should not lose faith in God and grow from the journey. I am very proud that I stayed faithful and trusting God with his plans for me. 4 years ago I was in the darkest time in my life. I lost my best friend, my mom to early onset Alzheimer’s March 12th 2019 and that same year my 16 year old son on December 7th 2019 in a car accident. As time past, I had lost my self through depression, I didn’t want anything in life I just wanted to be set free from the pain. Then One day I prayed so hard as I saw my children and husband’s face. I finally came to realize that my heart wasn’t the only one hurting, and that got me thinking what am I doing to my self and my family. I started to see the light and pushed myself to do better. I attended Ogle cosmetology School back in 2014 got my license and I didn’t want it to go to waste. All that hard work and sacrifice of attending school that year, trying to graduate with a high risk pregnancy. I always had a passion for the art in the beauty industry. Just helping women feel good about themselves with full of confidents and help them shine as bright as their hearts do. So on June 2021 I started to Google Eyelash Extension schools and came across Glance Lash Academy with Gabby Guajardo in Fort Worth. Making that call and enrolling was the best decision I had ever made for my life set Career. Now I am thriving in my career doing what I am so passionate about, lash extensions. Not only that I’m also a makeup artist, spray tanning artist and teaching at Glance Lash Academy as a Lab instructor. Its the best feeling in the world that I can share my story to students and clients so they know that yes, life is hard but we can grow from everything we go through in life. Now was it easy to get to were I am at now? No, but I did overcome it all. I’ve learned that, to become stronger you need to fall, dust yourself off learn from it and grow from it patiently but make sure you do it all with love. Because life is full of curve balls so hold on tight and don’t lose faith. What I want People to know about my brand 101 Beauty L.L.C. is that I am here for them and everything I do Its done with love,

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and for most I would like to thank God for giving me the strength and guidance. To all of my clients, family and friends thank you for trusting me in what I love to do, I wouldn’t be this far in my career without you. My husband (Manuel Carrillo) and children (Penelope, Devin and Donovan) always being my cheerleaders, giving me all the love and support throughout this crazy life of a journey. My sisters at Glance Lash Studio for always being there for me, last but not least my mentor Gabby Guajardo at Glance Lash Academy. She selfless, has the biggest heart always encouraging and supporting in everything that I do. Without the encouragement, advice, love and support from everyone my life would be so much more different and boring. Appreciate and Love you all so very much!
