Meet Minali Akhud | Bridal Hair & Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Minali Akhud and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Minali, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have been passionate about hair and makeup from a very early age. Coming from a country (India)that is full of culture, color and tradition, I’ve found that the face is a perfect canvas to reflect that.
One of the main reasons I’m so passionate about what I do is the makeup itself. The makeup is very colorful, dramatic and glamorous to coordinate with the elaborate outfits and jewelry.
I relishes the opportunity to work with different people that have different desires to enhance their appearance. It forces me to come up with the best way to fulfill their while giving them a protective shell to their skin in a subtle way.
It seems like the more advanced women become, the more insecure they feel about the way they look.
“I believe that looking good starts and ends with feeling beautiful from within and makeup is simply the reflection of that beauty “
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my journey as an engineer in the manufacturing field, designing and programming products- a world I deeply enjoyed. However after moving to USA my interest and curiosity of hair and makeup began to hold. I learned that artistry isn’t just about enhancing beauty, it’s about boosting confidence and helping people see their unique glow. This belief became the foundation of my work.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine technical precision with artistic expression. My engg background taught me the value of structure and detail, and I’ve carried that meticulousness into my artistry. I focus on creating customized looks that highlights each person’s individuality ensuring they feel not just beautiful but empowered.
I’m most proud of the journey itself, the bold decision to change careers, the hard work it took to learn the craft and the joy of building a successful business.
Overcoming challenges like adapting to a new country, balancing family life and establishing credibility in a competitive industry want easy. I learned on resilience, determination and my love for learning to push through.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that growth comes from stepping out of your comfort zone. I’ve also learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of consistent efforts, humility and a willingness of evolve.
Through my brand I want the world to know that beauty isn’t about trends or standards, it’s about individuality and confidence. My story is testament to the idea that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, follow your passion and make an impact. I aim to inspire others just as I was inspired to believe in themselves and their potential.
Myb work is not about just makeup, it’s about transformation, empowerment and celebrating every person’s unique beauty.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A huge shoutout to the inspirations and supporters who shaped my journey as a makeup artist! My home country india with its vibrant culture, rich tradition and stunning colors, sparked my passion for artistry and creativity. After moving to NYC in 2002, the dynamic fashion world pudhed me to dream bigger and refine my craft. Ofcrse I also have to thank Dallas with its incredible wedding venues and vendors for encouraging me to dive into bridal wedding business. Moved to Dallas in 2014.
But the real credit goes to my incredible family- my husband and my two sons- who have been my rock through it all. Their unwavering love and support make everything possible and I owe my success to them. This recognition is as much theirs as it is mine.
