We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Humston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would say it’s our “ why”. WE BELIEVE in providing people with a customer service experience that is highly uncommon in todays society. An experience that will remind them that good old fashioned, relational customer service still exists.

WE BELIEVE in providing a workplace that is conducive and centered in the growth of our employees, both personally, and professionally. We live this out on a daily basis from the top down and keep everything we do centered around it

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart from our competitors is our people. We believe in giving people chances. Most of our staff have not had easy pasts, and have the type of pasts that most of todays society wouldn’t think they were worth the time. We hire our folks and pour into them personally as well as professionally. My greatest moments are when one of our employees buys a house, gets married, signs their first lease. Those kinds of things are what I come to work for. To add value to others

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d say we would start our morning at first watch. Eat a good breakfast and then try to catch a UK sporting event. If not, we would try to see the Legends play baseball or possibly go to Keeneland if it was running. We’d probably have dinner at Longhorn because I absolutely love Flo’s Filet there LOL. And then we would end our night enjoying a cigar at Jake’s Cigar Lounge in Brannon Crossing

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been several influential people in my life. David Calhoun, David Wilson, Fred Sizemore, and of course my favorite Author John Maxwell.
