We had the good fortune of connecting with Miguel Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miguel, how does your business help the community?
Music is therapeutic. From soothing sounds to loud, intense drumming, I believe it all has a helpful benefit. It can be an escape from your current problems, or help u find a solution for those problems. All about perspective. Whether it’s to forget, remember, or just for pure enjoyment, my DJ’n business has helped both me and my clients create memorable times amongst loved ones! That’s just speaking on live DJ sets, my aim is to positively influence worldwide with my music! I’ve recently stepped into the producer DJ world. Very much looking forward to this venture! it was only a matter of time i suppose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nothing in life is easy, but when you’re passionate about something you don’t care what it takes to make it. You’re gonna pursue, persist, and follow through! Never know who’s looking up to you and you never know when inspiration will strike. Just like a regular 9-5, gotta be productive even when you’re not feeling up to it!

Apart from the work ethics and tendencies, it takes a team to win! Never underestimate the power of networking, It really isn’t about WHAT you know but more of WHO you know! Im fortunate enough to have a solid team that has my back through thick and thin!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, Mondays are usually industry nights! You can unwind with some house music and cokctails at Atlas! Or you can also go hangout at Rosi’s and visit the homegirl MJ for some pupusas and what we call the “Hood Fashioned” 😉

Tuesdays calls for some Thai food at Chan Tai Pho 88. Usually some summer rolls, dumplings and a plate of drunken noodles does it for me.

Wednesdays are either for some order out from Lord of The Wings OR Whiskey Wednesdays at Cannon’s Irish Pub, which also has a great menu!

Thursdays are for Four Corners Brewery where MC John B host Loteria every week with me alternating weeks on the DJ decks with Noe G!! Guaranteed GREAT vibes and delicios eats with Pacheco Taco and Burger serving out the kitchen! John B and I have been doing Loteria Live Nights there for over 7 years!

Friday is always a wild card lol Tiny Victories is a favorite, especially if El Mero Mero Elotero is serving food out of his food truck that night!

Saturdays are for the boulevard! Go shop for some records at Top Ten Records then hit up Gonzales Restaurant for some carner guisada an ice cold beer! Can’t go wrong with that!

The ideal Sunday Funday for me starts by going to Ft. Worth to grab the BEST BURGER EVER (LITERALLY!!) from Gusto’s! Then sitting on the patio and indulging while the DJ or live musician drop some jams. Then we head back to Oak Cliff, back on Jefferson Boulevard as the sun sets to grab a michelada at La Palapa and enjoy the lowrider site seeing while the corridos blast from the live bands there at the restaurant!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, shout out to Rock-E for the recommendation!

Early beginnings are thanks to my parents and my siblings, the people who FIRST got me into music. Listening to Temerarios, Pedro Infante, Tupac, Bon Jovi, Nsync even! It was a mix of everything! I remember being a kid and messing around with the stereo equalizer we had in the living room, tryna find the right configuration for the best sound output. Good times!

S/o to all the classmates that would buy CDs off me in middle school (Truman) and high school (SGP) too! Helped me fund my music library that would grow into my DJ library i still use today!

None of this would be possible without my cousins Mike (Sir Random), Robert (Dvrbz) who were my first producers and spoiled me rotten with beats, my buddies Doh Boy, Mario, and Danny D who are the first ones to get me to freestyle and rap after countless efforts! Last but not least, a huge thank you to my brother Juan ( DJ Regulator) who is the one that got me started with his CDJS when he stored at my place when i was 17.
