Meet Michael Watkins II | CEO of The Code Chasers Digital Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Watkins II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started The Code Chasers Digital Marketing to help home service businesses be seen on Google. Talking to Pressure Washers, Plumbers, and others in the industry, I found that many of them had been burned or lied to by other Digital Marketing agencies making bogus promises. I wanted to do something different and be a positive change. I’ve been in the Digital Marketing space for the last 4 fours and I wanted to bring my expertise to the Home Service industry to make waves. Ultimately as a young entrepreneur I desired to be my own boss and control my own destiny in my life, and starting a successful business would allow me to do this.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Code Chasers was founded in 2019 originally as an Ed-Tech business, but that aspect of the business had some challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic so we exited and in 2020 and began working in the Digital Marketing space. It’s been a great fit for our business ever since. Some of my earliest challenges when I was starting my business was having adults and even friends take my business endeavors seriously. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years while building this business is learning to Fail Faster to scale/grow quicker. We prides ourselves on providing digital marketing services with integrity to the Home Service industry, when you provide value to businesses and they see the real you, they will come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I have friends coming into town, I would show them some of the best of what the DFW has to offer some of my favorite places include, The Shops at Clearfork & Waterside in Fort Worth, The Shops at Willow Bend & Legacy West in Plano, and of course The Stockyards.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I owe an immense debt of gratitude to my mom. As a High School Young Entrepreneur, navigating the complexities of running a business and going to school can be daunting, but my mom has been my unwavering source of support and motivation. Her belief in my abilities, her endless encouragement, and her tireless efforts to nurture my entrepreneurial spirit have been invaluable. From the earliest days of conceptualizing my business to the daily challenges of operations, my mom has been there every step of the way, offering guidance, wisdom, and love. Her faith in my vision has empowered me to push through obstacles, overcome setbacks, and keep striving for success. Whether it’s lending a listening ear during moments of doubt or celebrating victories, big and small, my mom’s presence has been a constant source of strength. In addition to my mom’s support, I’ve found inspiration in the teachings of Grant Cardone, particularly his transformative concept known as the 10X Rule. Grant’s philosophy challenges entrepreneurs to think bigger, act bolder, and set audacious goals. By multiplying efforts and ambitions tenfold, the 10X Rule pushes boundaries and unlocks untapped potential. Embracing the principles of the 10X Rule has been instrumental in scaling my business and setting my sights on lofty aspirations. It has instilled in me a mindset of relentless determination, prompting me to take massive action and pursue excellence in all endeavors. Through Grant’s teachings, I’ve learned to dream bigger, work harder, and refuse to settle for anything less than extraordinary. As I continue on my entrepreneurial journey, I am deeply grateful for the guidance and inspiration provided by my mom and figures like Grant Cardone, T. Harv Eker, and others. Their unwavering support and transformative insights have fueled my passion, strengthened my resolve, and propelled me toward a future filled with boundless possibilities.
