We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Parrish and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Three habits that have helped me succeed are discipline, consistency, and time management. As a student-athlete, during the school year I am constantly balancing my studies with training, along with professional development activities including the position I hold in my Fraternity (ΠΚΑ) as well as growing my personal business. Something I learned from all of this is that having self-discipline and always staying consistent are the best ways to achieve the results I desire.

What should our readers know about your business?
In July of 2022, I started a mobile Power Washing & Car Detailing Business. Door-to-door sales is a form of marketing I use quite often. There have been multiple times where people will say no before listening to my sales pitch or will just shut the door in my face. The biggest lesson those experiences have taught me were how to deal with and learn from failure. My consistency and drive for success are two factors that separate me from my competition; I make it a daily requirement that I must spend time working on my goals. Learning how to be consistent daily and be patient with my goals has helped my business succeed. About my brand, I have successfully been in business for the past year and am dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction. Not only will my work make driveways look better, cars look shinier, and houses more presentable – but will also make the environment a better and healthier place.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first place my best friend and I would go is to Hidden Gym to get a workout in. Dallas being such a big city there are so many different places to eat. First, I would take them to my favorite place to eat in Dallas, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria. Next, I would take them to strike and reel so that we can go bowling and see a movie – then afterwards we would go downtown to the Farmers Market and walk around. Lastly, I would end the trip with going to Medieval Times and watching a live performance they put on.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everything I have achieved has been made possible through the help of my parents. They are constantly making sacrifices to provide me with opportunities others may not have access to, such as a Private Education. A book that I would like to give recognition to is “Atomic Habits”, written by James Clear. This book provided helpful insight on how to structure and keep successful habits into my daily routine. Lastly, the Southwestern University Track and Field Program has helped me grow to where I am today. The program provided me the opportunity to be a part of a second family and pursue my passion in sports.
