We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by seeing my creative works come to life and the joy that my clients get after a completed project. I am also very inspired by seeing people from all walks of life overcome the trails and tribulations that often face us in life and seeing them overcome them through whatever means they utilize to succeed, In my case its using my artistic abilities to help me rise above my past mistakes and decisions. Its my personal belief that inspirations ignite change.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I own a licensed private tattoo studio in Fort Worth Texas. Im a self taught artist and honestly I refined my craft in Federal Prison and then really refined it a tattoo shop in Crowley Texas. I know that sounds terrible but I am one of the many who served time for a non-violent drug offense. However people change and I am a living testament to it. While I accept responsibility for my past I also accept that same responsibility for making the needed changes in my life. It for sure wasn’t easy but its possible. You just gotta stay focused and driven. I believe its the past struggles Ive endured that set me apart and it for sure has made me appreciate all I have now and so I take take all the time needed with my clients to capture whatever it is that they are trying to achieve with their art. As for my brand Art By Flash G. Thats just me and you can count on me doing all I can to always produce the best end result possible. Ill also be coming out with a small clothing line soon with original artwork and motivational phrases on T-Shirts and Hoodies.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Id take them to some of the live music venues on some of the lakes around the Metroplex and for sure catch a Dallas Cowboys game.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to attribute some of my success to my family for supporting me in my good and bad times. Predominately my Mother Jerrie Hart and my Brother Jim Hart. Also its very important to me to give a BIG thanks to my clients and the DFW area for supporting me and allowing me to bring some of there artistic visions to life.
