We had the good fortune of connecting with Mayra Vizcaino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mayra, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I talk to many people on a daily basis and the subject that seems to be a common thread is the desire to own their business. I remember being in the same frame of mind when my second kid was born, all because of the freedom of being able to create my own schedule, to see my two toddlers growing up, to bond with my them and create long lasting memories. Yet the key factor for all the avenues of thoughts were always the same…we just couldn’t afford it. Going back to my corporate job, that I loved, meant giving up the opportunity to create those life time memories…to living life on our terms. Hence, the seed that was planted to own my business continued to grow. But what? What was I going to be about? That was truly the question. I explored a brick and mortar business, senior care, after school programs even digital marketing.
I analyzed several options. I invested time and money training in different areas of business that made so many promises except it still did not fulfill my expectations. It was missing that something that I would do even if I am not paid. The right something. It took two years and a painful health journey to find it. I found that something that adds value, that something that makes a difference in somebody’s life. When I discovered how to recover from my ailments, I found my desire to help others and provide a one-on-one service and the most exciting thing for me was that the income I was earning was a reflection of the impact I made on the lives I’ve touched.
So going back to your question of what’s the one single most important decision I’ve you made that contributed to my success…I say it’s passion. Once I made the equally important decision of who to partner with, my passion for seeing the transformation of the lives of those I was helping made every day one of growth. Even as freedom began to reveal itself in so many ways, the satisfaction that came from seeing so much change was my success. My passion for health became my billboard. The same quality products that gave me back my health, that planted this vision sparked this passion. I deliver clinically proven and non-toxic products for health, skin and home. That YES to my business even before I knew what that business was gave me what I was looking for. It was right in front of me the whole time.
A shout out to all who have made that decision to begin a business! Look inside you. The answer and passion just may be in front of you all along. When you provide a service with no expectations except the passion that is planted in your heart…you will find yourself living on your terms.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I work with people all ages and backgrounds but specially professional mothers who need to be at their best in health and vitality.
Every stage of life bring their own challenges and for women that is a call to action to take control of their health. I empower them and give them the tools to take control of their own health and the health of their families. I recognize and take into consideration the uniqueness of every one way beyond age and gender. I create a program unique for them and I walk with them every step of the way until they reach their goals and create a healthy and sustainable life style.
Raising kids is a run against time and time wait for no one and being at our best every day is priceless.
I have a mission to transform health care from sick care to well care and I am doing that one mother at a time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Reunion Arena is my favorite place to visit all year long. I just take them with no details of what it is or what happens up there and I love to see theirs surprised faces when they find out what’s happening.
Down town Dallas, West end and Heritage villas give a wonderful idea of the journey from past to present and that contrast is simply amazing.
The stock yards is a fun place to go to enjoy the view and the food. It is my favorite picture spot.
For sports loving friends I enjoy taking them to AT&T Stadium for a tour or an event.
Down town Grapevine, Frisco Square, Downtown Mckinney are all lively places where there is always something going on and fun to visit anytime of the year.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
