We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew Iommi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matthew, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I believe the thought process behind starting my own business stems from my belief that myself and my partner, Justin Rath, have the determination and skillset to build and lead a team successfully. It was my desire to create a company that solved a big problem and could make a real difference in the world, and with Fetii we are doing exactly that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Fetii is a mobility platform that provides on-demand group ride sharing and commuting solutions for businesses using 15-passenger vehicles, thus significantly reducing carbon emissions and decreasing congestion. Right now in the U.S. over 75% of commuters choose to drive to work alone in their car, which translates to over 115 million vehicles transporting exactly one person each. This has led to significant problems for cities and their infrastructure. The proliferation of individual rides is too energy intensive and leads to intolerable levels of congestion, issues I experienced first hand in Austin and Los Angeles. Fetii has a network of contractor drivers and 15 passenger sprinter vehicles that utilize our group-centric platform to provide service to two segments: Groups and Businesses. Rather than groups or commuters taking multiple vehicles to get to a destination, they can be transported in a single Fetii vehicle.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With family in Dallas and having been raised there, I have a lot of places where great memories have been made and where I would take my best friend. For a day’s itinerary I would first take them to Local Diner for breakfast, then to the Dallas Aquarium and a visit to Coppell High School (where I graduated). For dinner I would take them to Gen Korean BBQ, and finish the night with some drinks in Deep Ellum.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course I recognize that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. I wouldn’t be where I am without the Fetii Family, our users who trust us to provide safe and reliable group transportation day in and day out. In addition, the team at Fetii is what has made this possible. Without their hard work, intellect, and trust, we wouldn’t be where we are. My family has also provided significant love and support. I am fortunate to be surrounded by great individuals with great values.
