We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcy Grace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcy, why did you pursue a creative career?
Sounds cliche, but honestly I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. Music has been a part of my entire life and I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Sure it’s not an easy path, but it’s completely worth it when someone tells you that your song or performance changed their life or made a huge impact. That’s the most rewarding thing of all. I think a lot of people think the arts are meant to be selfish or only represent the artist. Yes it’s for me, but it’s also for everyone else out there. I write and play music because I enjoy it, but I share it and perform it because I want others to enjoy it too. Music can really bring a lot of people together.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Texas Country Artist, influenced by rock. I’ve played music all of life pretty much, playing drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar and banjo. After graduating college, I really hit the Texas Country scene in 2017 with the release of my first single, I Wanna, which went Top 40 on the Texas Radio Charts. It was amazing for my first release in the scene to do so well. As a band, pre-covid, we were averaging 90 shows a year, had 2 top 40 songs, and I also won 2019 Solo Artist of the Year. It’s been an amazing and fun ride so far. Any business venture is not “easy”, but I take any setbacks as an opportunity to learn. In 2020, it really allowed me to step back and get back to the creative side of music. I had been concentrating so much on the business side, that I hadn’t been consistent in writing songs. I know for sure, we have a ton of new music to add in 2021. I live my life in such a positive manner, that I think that comes out in my music. When you listen, it’ll definitely get you moving and put you in a good mood!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
