We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always wanted to start my own business but did not know what I wanted to do. I wanted more flexibility and balance with my time. It was important for me to have more personal and family time. I have a commercial driver’s license, safety certifications and the driving skills that I have acquired over the last 25 years from driving diverse types of trucks. It seemed that I would always contact to help organize or move family, friends, and colleagues over the years. Each person would tell me how grateful they were that I was able to help them move by doing some challenging times. Also, I knew that having a moving business there would always be someone to move. It does not matter about the time of year. It has always been my desire to help someone else regardless of how great or small the deed is. This meant that it was an opportunity for me to assist someone else, as well as being able to support and make a difference in the community by working with people, providing quality products and services to improve people’s lives.

In 2020 my wife and I started our moving company MK Jones LLC and business picked up for a while and then the country started shutting down due to Covid, so we had to restructure our business plan. As the moving business began to slow down, I became drawn into acting, modeling, and fitness which are all going well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Having my own business has allowed me more flexibility in deciding when I want to work. It’s a very competitive industry and it takes lots of hard work. Being a strong guy is not good enough, you also must be patient and a good businessperson and that’s what sets us apart from some competitors. Every individual is treated with respect and with appreciation.

What draws me into creating a career in acting, modeling and fitness are 3 things I really enjoy doing and it’s fun for me. I love networking and collaborating with people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. This also applies to my business, as I enjoy working with different individuals from diverse backgrounds that I meet.

I have always been a risk taker and go getter from an early age. That is what sets me apart from the status quo. I’m never afraid to jump out and try something new or different for the first time. I’ve faced a lot of adversity and challenges in my lifetime, but everyone has. Life can be hard and it’s not always easy, but those tough times don’t last. Each person’s journey is different, but it still matters. Regardless of what job or industry a person might be in, we can all inspire each other by working together through challenging times, intentionally checking on someone, demonstrating patience, and kindness with a grateful heart towards others.

I feel like I’m just getting started with my business and personal careers. I have no plans to slow down because life should be lived with passion and purpose.

The most important thing for my legacy is to continue connecting with others and giving back to the community. My wife and I love to give back and pour into others. We don’t engage in sharing it for pleasure, we do it out of the goodness of our hearts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I spend time with friends I love to hang out around Dallas-Fort Worth. I take them to some really cool spots like Klyde Warren Park, Uptown, Reunion Tower, Trinity River Corridor, Punch Bowl Social in Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, Lava Cantina, Top Golf, AT&T Stadium, American Airlines, Fair Park, Sundance Square, Fort Worth Stockyards, and Texas Live(Arlington) .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I express my gratitude to my beautiful wife Kimberly Jones. Thank you for always being willing to help me with the demanding work. Your strong faith in God motivates me and I’m blessed to have you as my wife. Your believing in me motivates me and pushes me to do my best. You’re my biggest supporter in whatever I set out to do. You always ensure the household is functioning well even when I’m working or filming. She held me down for a month when I went to Canada to be on the TV show “Tough As Nails for Season 5”. I feel blessed to have you as my wife. Thank you to my family for your support. I love you guys.
