Hi Marcelline, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Everything started when I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. Back then I used to work with a small firm and it became harder to be at work full time due to my daughter being constantly sick. One day I received a notice of “warning before dismissal”. That’s when everything started to make sense, as I wanted to be able to do what I loved while taking care of my loved ones. So I brewed “Tax Perks LLC”. Tax Perks LLC started with the drive to first educate all Americans and taxpayers, specifically by taking advantage of tax benefits they might not be aware of and avoiding common mistakes. To put it simply, Tax Perks main goal is to develop the ”HEIR” (Help, Educate, Inspire, and Reach) within us starting with learning how to play the Tax game in order to build financial freedom.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tax perks LLC is all about self development. What better way for someone to elevate, without knowledge? Here at Tax perks LLC, we do not just offer tax preparation. We are here to build a community of Heirs. And that’s what we are most excited about! We were all created to be successful and our mission is to unlock potential by building financial foundation, understanding how money works, inflation, and how to build wealth.

The book “Rich dad Poor dad” by Robert Kyosaki is what triggered me for the first time in 2019. I was born and raised in Cameroon, only child of two educated parents, I came to the US with hopes of becoming a doctor one day! My hopes fell apart when I realized my parents couldn’t support my dreams anymore. So In late 2018, I started a job as a receptionist at a small tax firm, and moved my way up to becoming tax manager in 2022. Being a key employee, I wanted more so I formed Tax perks LLC in the hopes of partnering with the tax firm in 2023. It happened that God had other plans for me… Without any marketing strategy, I jumped right in and the results exceeded my expectations. I realized I could offer more that what I was already doing and the demand was there! Focus, discipline and consistency have been my dearest allies in this journey as a self employed. However, the goal is to create a system and become an investor so I can help others make the dream work! At the end of the day, we are in this world to help each other, one thing I have realized through my experiences is to never let anyone or any situation define who you are and what you can do, the sky is the limit.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my! Well lets start with food, a breakfast spot, my favorite breakfast place is Eggspress Cafe in highland Village, for a brunch, i love The Henry, in Dallas and Vidorra in Deep Ellum, love their margaritas. My favorite dining experiences have been at Nick & Sams and Fogo de chao @ legacy west. Best bars and lounges for me are Apothecary, The mansion Bar and Bar eden lounge at Paradiso. My best dessert spots are Rise for souffles and Le Reve gelato and patisserie.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would first like to thank my daughter for showing me what I had wasn’t enough and that I had to build a legacy for myself and her! Second thanks go to the firm I used to work with, thankful for the experience and knowledge I had acquired. Mostly grateful for the warning notice I had received, as it helped me get out of my comfort zone! And lastly, to my business partner and my parents who constantly encourage me financially and emotionally to elevate myself, to become a “highHer” version every day!
