We had the good fortune of connecting with Majesty Carpenter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Majesty, how do you define success?
Success is funny in a weird kind of way because it’s not something with an absolute definition. It varies from day to day, person to person, but I do believe that in every success big or small there is a root feeling of complete rame. (Something that is chaotic and joyful at the same time). And this feeling is what drives someone to want to continue to be successful. So how do I define success? I guess once I have no other desire but for more success, no other need but for that feeling of completion, I’ll truly be successful. Because how do you define something that isn’t infinite? How do you become something that has no true definition? I honestly don’t know….but that’s the thing about success even though it isn’t infinite or definitive…it’s there. Ready for you to claim it…if you will.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So our business is called KidzKonez, and it is a mobile snow-cone trailer. But our main focus is not just selling snow-cones, it’s showing kids that it is never to early to start pursuing their dreams. And long story short it all started with an idea, a walk, and a apple. Yeahhh, if you want a more in-depth story you should probably check out our previous interview but for now just know that our business definitely came from out of literal no where. Owning a business has been its own adventure in itself. Of course the idea of having a business, being your own boss, and making money is very enticing….but that definitely isn’t all it is. And with KidzKonez we get to show children what it’s really like being “in charge”. We offer them experiences that their schools never have. And we broaden their view on the world. It’s honestly beautiful when you see a young child realize they can be more than just a person with a job. Realize that the future is truly limitless. That’s why we do what we do. Of course snow-cones are great, but once a child really realizes that they can truly be whatever they want to be at whatever age they want to be it, THAT, is more valuable than any shaved ice in a cup ever will be….even though our snow-cones are definitely delicious. Lol

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok so I’m a big food person and DFW has LOADS of great food options but you can only eat so much food in a week. So I’ll tell you my top 5 favorite spots to get down and dirty with the dishes. Number one – Grimaldis Pizzeria. Grimalidis Pizzeria is a Brooklyn-based pizzeria franchisee that gives you a causal dining experience while also introducing you to “real” pizza. Let me tell you, you haven’t had pizza if you haven’t had Grimaldis. It definitely is an experience, from the aesthetics, to the fun pieces of pizza dough that they bring for children to play with. Just *mwah* an excellent choice for a fun and casual Wednesday night dinner. (Don’t know why I chose Wednesday but I’m rocking with it.)
Number two – Coco Shrimp. Coco Shrimp is for all you seafood loving people out there. And even if you don’t love seafood, I bet you Coco Shrimp can change your mind. Coco Shrinp is a Hawaiian style restaurant that specializes in making shrimp special. They don’t serve just any kind of shrimp here, they have a variety of choices from butter garlic, to sweet and spicy, to even lemon herb. I have never been disappointed when trying out a new dish here, and I bet you won’t be either.
Number three – Kitchen and Kocktails. Let. Me. Tell. Y’all. RIGHT. NOW!!! If you don’t go to anyyy other place on this list go to this oneeee. When I tell you these people know how to cook?! WOW, it is absolutely divine cooking if I do say so myself. I honestly have no words to describe the food that is served here other than abso-freaken-lutely delicious! Now there will definitely be a wait if you don’t make a reservation and even if you do make a reservation this place still will be packed, but that’s just a testament to its deliciousness. The wait will all be worth it when those chicken and waffles hit your table, or whatever dish your heart desires.
Number four – Torchys Tacos. Now compared to the previous restaurants this one is a bit less up-scale. But that doesn’t really make a difference, since Torchys is scrumptious. One of my favorite things to get there is the hill billy queso, with everything in it, it’ is such a mouth watering dish and you don’t know what queso is until you’ve dipped your chip into this one. The tacos are absolutely splendid as well, they have a great array of choices and I’m sure you’ll find something that piques the interest of your tastebuds.
Number five – last but certainly not least I’d say before you make your way out of DFW you should definitely drive on over and come get yourself a snow-cone. Made especially by us with love and creativity, at KidzKonez you won’t just be fulfilling your tastebuds but you’ll also be filling your heart. By pouring into the lives of young children who believe that the world is theirs for the taking…all we have to do is try. Because no dream, kid, or cone…is too small.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d say that my mother deserves the biggest shoutout of all. I truly don’t know what I would do without her. She is the reason we began our business and she’s the reason we stay motivated. She has even started a non profit Kidz Zap Money Smart Kidz Inc., to teach kids financial literacy and entrepreneurship. I want to BECOME somebody because SHE makes me want to become someone. My mother is my biggest cheerleader and my loudest supporter. I honestly can’t thank her enough, she has a beautiful mind and a wonderful heart. I don’t say this as much as I should but…I love her and I cherish getting to be her daughter everyday. Through the good and the bad, love you always and forever mommy.
