We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynn, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Wow! This question evoked so many emotions! I wouldn’t be truthful if I said there weren’t times when I thought about giving up on my business plan. Things can get very difficult at times when important decisions have to be made. Every task can feel like a priority making it difficult to choose which to tackle first. When I feel my confidence waning, I try to sit quietly and clear my head for a bit. Oftentimes, I feel overwhelmed when I’m exhausted but the tasks keep piling up and there is seemingly little or no time to rest. I try to see the big picture ahead and remember why I started my business in the first place. I try to remember to pull myself away from the desk, even if only for a few short minutes, to recharge and gain perspective. Things always seem clearer the next day so I keep going.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in the Skincare, Makeup and Beauty industry for more than three decades serving in multiple roles including, Makeup Artist, Skincare Specialist and product and packaging design and marketing. I’ve enjoyed a career in Luxury Spa Skincare sales and education and most recently in clinical skincare in the Aesthetic Dermatology space.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friend and I would spend mornings at my house relaxing in the backyard cozied up with a cup of tea, then take in some shopping at the Legacy Shoppes in Frisco, before heading to The Kona Grill, my favorite Sushi spot in Plano to chat and “catch up” and enjoy all our favorites!

Then we’d spice up our wardrobe, hair and makeup and take in a concert at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra to end our night.

The next day would be a bit more casual with a visit to the Dallas Arboretum and lunch in the courtyard before heading back to my house for popcorn and a movie in our pajamas.

The third day we would take a stroll through the Dallas Museum of Art

The fourth day we would check out the Dallas Black Dance Theatre

Day five would be memorable with a visit to the Dallas Aquarium then a cozy evening at the house before she departs Dallas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to send a loving shoutout to my husband who has supported every “crazy” idea I’ve ever had and who never once complained through it all. He has been my shoulder to lean on, my sounding board and my much needed adviser. He has carried and set-up equipment and built things for me that, I’m sure, he never imagined building. He has been my “lighting man” when I needed to take “the absolute best product picture” I could not have gotten this far or done so much without him.

Also, a GIANT high-five to my beautiful daughters whose amazing talents, insights and ideas brought the brand to life! They painstakingly reviewed logo versions to choose the one with the best look and feel and spent countless hours choosing packaging, eyeshadow shades and textures and lip colors. They’ve literally used every skincare and makeup formulation and mink lashes we offer to make sure all products are professional quality, easy and fun and suitable for the many different lifestyles of “real” people. That has always been our goal. Creating and growing the brand has been a collective project for our whole family.
