We had the good fortune of connecting with Logan McPherson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Logan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from a small town about 60 miles west of Dallas, called Springtown. I grew up with deep family roots of hard work. Both of my grandfathers were extremely hard workers. One of my grandfathers was a farmer and cattle rancher in the day and worked the midnight shift at Lockheed Martin; the other was a homebuilder, tradesman and worked several other jobs to pay the bills.

My parents instilled in me that nothing in life would come easy, but I could do whatever I wanted as long as I worked hard everyday. This mindset allowed me to play college baseball, and transitioning into real estate seeing my hard work pay off early in my career.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a full time real estate agent. I help people buy/sell/lease any sort of real estate. Since I grew up outside of Ft. Worth, and now live in Dallas; I have a wide range of areas that I am familiar with all across the metroplex. I think the thing that really sets me apart is my heart. I have been given a servant’s heart, and look to put other people’s needs above my own. I think in a commission job, that’s really hard to come by.

Right now I’m most excited about building my team, and helping other people come to find success in selling real estate. I have a few people in the process of getting their license and jumping onboard to the McPherson Group when they’re fully licensed.

Getting to this part of my career, especially only being 24 years old was not easy. I have worked extremely hard, spent most of my nights and weekends working. I think the only way to find any sort of success in business is to jump in and commit everything to simply getting better at what you do. It takes a lot of humility to grow, and look introspectively at the things that you’re not doing well and try to do better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Eating: Cindy’s for breakfast (every day), Joe T Garcias in Ft Worth, Javier’s, Jimmy’s Food Store, Keller’s Drive In, Al Biernet’s, Pecan Lodge, Campisi’s, and Hudson House. Hanging out: any of the golf courses in the metroplex is a guaranteed good time, but I’d have to choose: The Tribute, Pecan Valley, Fossil Creek, or Steven’s Park.

Of course we would have to check out a Mavs or Stars game at the AAC, visit the new Texas Ranger’s Stadium or visit Jerry’s World and watch America’s team play.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my community of amazing family and friends.

I’ve been a firm believer in that the people around you shape who you become
and I’ve seen that true all throughout my life and journey to who I’ve become. My parents and sisters have always been my biggest supporters. They attended nearly every game and practice for baseball growing up, and are always there to celebrate my wins and love on me and push me after my failures.

My close group of friends come from Watermark Community Church. I was deeply interested in the community groups that Watermark had to offer, and some of my deepest friendships came through the community group formation. I have 7 guys that push me to be the best version of myself, and hold me accountable. I also serve at our young adults ministry on Tuesday nights, The Porch. I have made some amazing friendships with people that have the same mindset as me, and they are always encouraging me and celebrating my wins.

Some of the best books that I’ve read over the last year that have really shaped me have been: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry- John Mark Comer; Rest & War- Ben Stuart; Welcome to Adulting- JP Pokluda; Gentle and Lowly- Dane C. Ortlund.
