We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizbeth Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lizbeth, why did you pursue a creative career?

Hi there! My name is Lizbeth Ramirez and I’m a hairstylist based in Dallas, Texas. I’m originally from a beautiful town called San Miguel de Allende, also known as the heart of Mexico! I moved to Dallas, Texas when I was 3 and my parents and I are first generation immigrants. My parents are the ones who taught me to work hard and never stop following my dreams, the American dream.

I’ve always had to work hard to obtain opportunities. Growing up I felt the need to constantly prove myself to others, then I found the art of hair. I started experimenting at a young age when it came to hair. This was something that came natural to me and became my passion. I was fortunate enough to attend Duncanville high school which offered a cosmetology program. Through the program I was able to graduate with my high school diploma and cosmetology license.

I chose this artistic/creative career because it allows me to unleash my inner artistic skills. This gives me creative freedom to provide unlimited styles and color to my clients. I have the power to make whomever sits in my chair feel beautiful and that’s the most fulfilling feeling ever! I was able to gain experience ranging from brides to your everyday powerful women. I am now a color specialist at the stunning Global Group hairdressing salon in the heart of the Design district in Dallas. I was able to turn my dream into a living reality. I truly feel that I’ve found my purpose in this lifetime.

In the near future I would like to become well established hairdresser and mentor those around me. I hope to inspire others to take a leap of faith and follow their dreams.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am a color specialist here in Dallas. I love transforming anyone! From your bombshell blonde to your expensive brunette to a wild vivid! I love all things color. To get where I am today I had to stay really consistent & be mentored. I learned a lot from being a salon assistant and working one on one with someone. I had to work my way up and It wasn’t as easy as it may seem. I had to push through the bad days and keep my goal in mind, reminding myself to never give up! I worked really hard and it got me to where I am today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

When my family and friends visit, I love taking them to my favorite spots in Dallas. I love the Bishop Arts area! There is so much entertainment, amazing food & delicious drinks. From Casa Blanca, to La Reunion & The Trove! There’s so much to do in the area, Not to mention amazing deserts like Picole pops and Emporium pies.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I want to give a huge shoutout to my mentors Carlos Rojas & Garrett Lemmons founders and owners of GlobalGroup Hairdressing Salon. They have guided me and continue to guide to me through the road of success. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Couldn’t have asked for anyone else! I love you!
