We had the good fortune of connecting with LisaKay Kaye Gurney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LisaKay Kaye, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My whole life has been risk taking since I was a child of 13, to currently, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. As I walk this path of life I try and learn from mistakes. I really listen to my instincts (gut) and I’m a firm believer that if your ideas or roll doesn’t scare you, you’re not leaping into higher levels you were designed for. Your speed doesn’t matter. Forward is forward. I am so proud of my non-profit, Fellowship Power Lunch, and we celebrated 5 years strong this past February 2021, Through a vision I had for 2yrs, I finally overcame the fear and we launched February 2016, and to this day, We keep booked out with incredible International & National recognized speakers, authors, radio/TV commentators, who come and share their wisdom, knowledge, motivation, inspiration, every month. I didn’t have a handful of speakers, had no idea what to expect. However, I did know in my heart and soul, we needed something special to connect business minded people together. Now, we stay book at least 10 months out at a time. In 2019 I launched my second one that is a celebration for our Veterans The True Benefits of Fellowship and Having Relationships: Faster Healing, Reduced Pain, A Sharper Mind, More Successful As A Leader Or In Business. The incredible individuals I get to meet and connect with has only enhanced by character, business, and personal life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has always been in sales, since I was a young age. I love people, connecting people, inspiring people. I am VP of Builder Division with Superior Abstract & Title, a Texas Based, woman owned organization for over 15yrs. I work with home builders and commercial builders with the finest title closing services in Texas. When you build a brand name, being me LisaKay, and you put the client first in all things, they will be a client and sometimes a friend for life. With that said, I know a lot of wonderful people. None of this is easy. Relationships take time and resillience. Persistence pays off if you stick with it and I am very persistent! My work mind focuses on serving, not selling. What I’ve learned along the way is this, treat everyone at the door as if they are the CEO. Treat them as you would want to be treated. Yea, you’ll experience tough times but never give up. You know I’ve been writing a daily motivation since 2006 (daily) and have over 1500 saved. Now I am looking into publishing a 60 day journal, several volumes, that I hope will sweeten more lives on a national level. My goal is to have the first volume journal published June 2021. Along, with my wonderful motivational monthly luncheon, Fellowship Power Lunch, my Fellowship Power Lunch Veterans event once a year, bringing uplift and awareness to our Veteran communities, and my podcast, Intentional Talk with LisaKay and Taylor Cole Longacre.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Frisco, Texas is my home and I am a Dallas native. So much growth and sites to see. Enjoy a nice relaxing cookout to begin, followed by a trip to the Star which is a huge development owned by Jerry Jones. The new training facility for the Dallas Cowboys. Always catch a good basketball game with the Mavs at American Airlines Center. Let’s not forget a night of Boot Scooting (country dance), country concert, with a couple nights stay in Ft. Worth, Tx. ending the last day visiting Fort Worth Stockyards…rodeo, shopping, historical site seeing. And let’s not forget the PGA headquarters is moving to Frisco, Tx and the beautiful golf courses are just about complete. So much to see that you would need much more time than just a week!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I actually have several that I can’t pick just one. My daughter, Karissa Leanne Tuttle is such an inspiration. She’s a visionary like her mom and has taken many risks in her early age. A successful business owner of Simply Done Donuts, based in Atlanta, GA. With covid, she didn’t stop. She found remarkable ways to recreate her business moving forward. She is such a blessing and I’m proud that I was chosen to be her mom. Katie Andy, a dear close friend who has walked this journey with me, and an ongoing monthly sponsor of my monthly event, Fellowship Power Lunch. She has been my rock to fall back on, and the encouragement when fear sets in. She believes in me and has seen every accomplishment plus she’s a success story herself with InterLinc Mortgage Taylor Cole Longacre is just as beautiful and talented as a TV Host, Executive Producer, Podcaster at TVwithTLC.com and SpeakUP TV, and my partner/host with our podcast, Intentional Talk. She loves technology and gadgets. She’s got my back when it comes to this.
