We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind my business is first my children having multiple sources of income to create and provide a better life for my children on my own. Also helping others feel more confident in their self when we live in a world of social media where we do nothing but judge and tear each other down. I wanted to create a safe space for people to love the skin they are in rather if it’s is healing skin or just self care days. Basically how can I help others and also provide wealth for my family..

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a licensed Esthetician that specializes in corrective skin. I’ve had a passion for skin most of my life. I watched my mom have a daily morning routine, seen my sister suffer from acne growing up and then me not suffering with acne until I was 30 years old. I seen how having not so perfect skin can affect confidence and I wanted to help. After my own experiences I sacrificed spending a great amount of time with my children for 11 months work and attend esthetician school. Giving up different parts of my life to provide a better life for my children wasn’t easy, but the reward of being able to have my own business is worth it.I learned nothing comes easy but it’s worth fighting for if it’s truly a passion. I’m here by the strength of god 2020 was a year of trial and error but I pushed through and my business is growing my clients are getting real results I know what it’s takes to heal skin and also build confidence and I know this by experiences of my own.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend came to visit during October I would definitely take them to the state fair it’s absolutely my favorite. I would take them to D&L shaved ice for one of the best snow cones in Dallas.
I’m definitely treating them to some girl time getting our nails done by my amazing nail tech @lacquerlove and treating her to a facial with me @skin_byiamlisanicole.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First My two sons deserve’s so much credit to my success they had to give up so much for me to attend esthetician school. My instructors Mrs. Michelle and Mrs. Tamika Manns helped me throughout my learning journey and after my Estie bestie Eleyia Manns who continues to support and uplift me during this journey. Big thank you to my mother who passed away during my first month of Esthetician school that who give me strength to continue with things get hard. Last but not least thank you to all my clients that support me day in and out .
