Meet Lindsey Malouf | Interior Design

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Malouf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe the most important factor behind the success of my brand has been having a vision that stretches far beyond my present circumstances. Even in the early days, I had a clear picture of what I wanted this business to become. I still catch myself pausing in the middle of a busy day, reflecting on how far we’ve come—and feeling deeply grateful. That long-term vision, paired with a strong work ethic and a genuine love for what I do, has truly driven the growth of my company. I’ve poured my heart into every detail and worked countless hours not just to deliver beautiful results, but to build lasting, meaningful relationships with my clients. To this day, my business has grown entirely through referrals, which to me is the highest compliment. It’s a reflection of the trust, care, and personal connection I strive to bring to every project.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Dwell Interiors Staging & Design Co, our passion is transforming houses into homes filled with warmth and personality. We specialize in custom home staging and interior design that never relies on a cookie-cutter formula. Every project is approached with fresh eyes – every piece of furniture, art, and décor is thoughtfully selected to enhance the unique character of the space. This personalized touch is what sets us apart. Our goal isn’t just to make a property look beautiful it’s to create an atmosphere where buyers walk in and instantly visualize life unfolding in each room. I take great pride in those moments when a buyer says, “I can see myself living here,” because that means we’ve done our job in helping them imagine a home. On the interior design side of our business, I work one-on-one with clients to craft spaces that reflect who they are while balancing beauty and functionality. After all, a home should be an extension of your personality and lifestyle. Seeing homeowners fall in love with their newly designed spaces, is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
My professional journey to where I am today wasn’t a straight line – and it certainly wasn’t easy. When I first started Dwell Interiors Staging & Design Co, we were in the middle of the pandemic with many obstacles but I had a big dream and determination. I had to learn to wear many hats: designer, stager, marketer, accountant, and mover of furniture. In the early days, one of my biggest challenges was building credibility and trust. People entrust stagers and designers with something incredibly personal – their homes – so I knew I had to prove myself with every project. There were times I was pushed outside of my comfort zone. Instead of letting those moments discourage me, I leaned into them. Over time, these experiences helped me refine my eye, sharpen my business acumen, and ultimately shaped me into a stronger designer and entrepreneur. I learned the art of delegation and the importance of having a reliable team. I’m proud to say that those tough moments did not break us; they built us. They taught me resilience, creativity in problem-solving, and the value of preparation. One key lesson I’ve learned along the way is that authenticity, follow through, good communication and quality always win in the long run.
this business is built on relationships, passion, and community support. I didn’t get here alone. In fact, the majority of our projects come from word-of-mouth referrals – a past client will recommend us to their friend, or a realtor who loved our staging will call us for another listing. Those referrals are gold to me, not just because they sustain the business, but because they mean we’ve earned trust. Building strong client relationships has always been at the heart of what we do. I make it a point to truly connect with clients – to listen to their needs, communicate openly, and even keep in touch long after a project is done. There’s nothing more rewarding than getting a call from a former client who says, “We love what you did in our last home; would you help with our new one?” or hearing that our staging helped a family sell their house quickly and move on to a new chapter.
I hope people see that Dwell Interiors is about more than just decorating rooms – it’s about helping people envision a life in a space and fostering a sense of home and community. My journey taught me that when you operate from a place of genuine passion and care for people, it resonates. Yes, we bring expertise in design and staging, but equally important, we bring heart, authenticity, and a relational approach. I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, from the challenges overcome to the beautiful spaces we’ve created. And I’m excited for what’s ahead. The business continues to grow through the wonderful network of clients and friends we’ve made, and each new project is an opportunity to do what we love most: create spaces that tell a story and connect with people on a personal level.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d want to give them a true taste of what makes this city so special—great food, beautiful places, and a little bit of everything in between. We’d start our mornings with workouts at Ritual One Yoga or peaceful walks along the Katy Trail or through the neighborhoods of Highland Park. For dinner, I’d make reservations at some of my favorite spots—Evelyn and Catch for a fun, lively vibe, and Al Biernat’s, which has been a long-time go-to of mine for an elevated dining experience where they treat us like family.
We’d definitely plan a full patio day at Honor Bar or Park House—there’s nothing better than great conversation over drinks with a view. I’d also make sure we squeeze in a spa day at The Joule for a little luxury and relaxation. Of course, no trip would be complete without a little retail therapy, so we’d spend an afternoon shopping at Highland Park Village.
And for something extra special, we’d book a staycation at Hôtel Swexan. It’s such a gorgeous property and the perfect home base for a girls’ getaway. We’d spend the day lounging by the rooftop pool, soaking in the skyline views, sipping cocktails, and just enjoying a little escape without ever leaving the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to all of my incredible clients who have trusted me over the years. Their belief in my vision and their trust in my work has meant everything. Every referral, every kind word, and every opportunity they’ve given me has helped shape my journey and grow my business. I’m truly grateful for the relationships I’ve built and friendships I’ve gained along the way, and I don’t take a single one for granted. My clients have been the heartbeat of this brand, and I owe so much of my success to them.
